It’s crazy to think that I shared our Fall Family Fun list well over 6 weeks ago and it just now feels like the fall weather has arrived. So much of our fall felt like summer and we struggled to mark anything off of our list for the first month. But regardless of that, our list is about halfway done. Today I wanted to share our progress and a few fall photos we’ve taken along the way too.
What we’ve done so far…
Go on a hayride
Halloween Movie Night (we’ve had 2)
Attend a Fall Party (we attended 3)
Get lost in a corn maze
Bake a pumpkin treat (One, Two, Three, Four and counting…)
Hot Rod Reunion at MoKan
Bonfire & S’mores (I think the bonfire night count is at 3)
Try a new soup recipe
On a recent trip to my beloved Target, I grabbed the cutest Halloween themed treat. Mini Babybel® has been disguised in these adorable Halloween wrappers making them the perfect festive treat for the month of October. Pumpkins, mummies, vampires and more, I bet you’ll never guess which one is my favorite?! #pumpkineverything
These 100% real cheese snacks inspired me to create a simple Halloween cheese board. I knew that I wanted to stick with traditional Halloween colors and display my Mini Babybel® , with their Halloween wrappers, in the center of my creation. I quickly gathered the supplies I needed and got to work.
October is halfway over and today I am sharing pumpkin recipe #3 of 5. This weeks post also features a special blog hop at the end where you will find links to several other fall inspired recipes from some of my closest blogging friends. If you are looking for a new recipe to inspire you to start baking or cooking, I feel certain you will find at least one to try.
Like last week’s recipe, this week was another first for me. Believe it or not, I had never made muddy buddies before. Why? I have no idea. But I am starting to think I was better off that way, since I can’t seem to keep my hand out of the bowl.
Last Tuesday I said that with the beginning of October meant the beginning of baking pumpkin treats. I shared my very first pumpkin recipe of the 2017 fall season, New England Pumpkin Cake, and promised that I would be sharing 4 more over the next four weeks! Some of you may think it is a genius plan, others may think I am a little crazy. I probably wouldn’t argue with you either way.
Week #2 is a super easy pumpkin pastry that will have people thinking you worked way harder than you actually did.
Today’s recipe was a first for me, it was the first time I have ever used puff pastry. If I am being honest, puff pastry has always seemed kind of intimidating. I felt like it would be finicky and difficult to work with, goodness was I wrong, so I have never bothered with it.
But the idea of pumpkin turnovers with a cream cheese glaze was just too good to pass up. I mean, it’s pretty much an acceptable way to eat pie for breakfast! If that doesn’t convince you to give it a try yourself, I don’t know what will.
Today’s post is packed full of fall fun and the word pumpkin. You may laugh now, but when you’ve read the word pumpkin for the 30th time, you’ll either love me more, or want to shank me. There are 3 parts in today’s post. First, I am revealing my goodies from the 2017 mug exchange, then I am linking up for ‘TBB Asks’ October questions and finally I am giving you a chance to win a $50 Starbucks gift card.
Let’s get started.
My Mug Reveal
I am pretty sure when it came to mug love partners, I got the best one. I was paired up with Andrea from Living on Cloud Nine and I couldn’t have asked for a better match. Andrea is a kindred spirit and I feel fairly certain that she loves all things pumpkin spice even more than I do. Shocking, right?
The box she sent me was over the top amazing and full of all things pumpkin from start to finish.
One of my favorite ways to document our life and the fun we have is with photos. And one of my favorite seasons is fall. So it only makes sense to combine those two things and do something special.
Once again I am teaming up with Stephanie for another Instagram mini photo challenge. Mini challenges feel more practical and realistic to accomplish. Committing to two weeks is SO much easier than committing to a whole month. And to those of you who struggle to complete challenges, I would recommend taking advantage of the IG drafts. Confession: Very few of my photos are taken on the same day they are posted.
Starting October 1st we are inviting you to join us for 2 weeks of all things fall.
Here are the prompts!
