Summer Bucketlist 2016!

So I feel like we may be the last ones to jump on board the summer bucket list band wagon, but technically speaking the first day of summer is just about a week away on June 20th! When putting together our summer list this year I decided on the go big or go home approach. This might be a record number of items on a bucket list, but I look it over and feel like it is definitely do-able. I also think I did a pretty good job of mixing big and small things throughout.

We LOVE summer around here and fully intend to make this the best one ever, so here is what we have in mind.

Spring Bucket List 2016, TT:V17

I was this <> close to not putting together a spring bucket list this year.

Bucket lists are always a seasonal favorite and typically every year we have list after list from Spring until Christmas. But this year life happened. Busy schedules, early Easter, endless Dr. appointments and wrapping up our school year, I had just about given up hope. But then I realized at 12:00 noon on Friday we will officially be out of school! What else do we have to do until June 20th (the first day of summer) arrives?! So I sat down at the computer and put together a list, AKA something to keep us busy until the pool opens.

Fall Bucket List Wrap-Up 2015

We did it, we did it!
Is anyone else singing the Dora song now?

Is Dora even on any more?

Oh the memories. Marissa was obsessed!

Last week we finally finished our 2015 Fall Bucket List.

You can take a peek back at our first, second and third check ins, but here is what we have been up to recently.

Play In The Leaves

Since the 2011 tornado the middle of town has very few trees, specifically mature ones. In the fall if we want to play in the leaves we have to find others to take pity on us, or we scoop up a pile wherever we find them.

Which is exactly what we did this year.

Carve Pumpkins

We ended up carving one pumpkin right before Halloween. I usually get all fancy with stencils and such but I just didn’t have time for that this year. We went back to the basics using a simple Sharpie and a knife. The girls had just as much fun as they usually do if not more.

Go Trick or Treating

I shared the details last week, so let’s just say trick or treating was a huge success.

Nature Walk

Last week on our “hookie day” we went for a walk. It was beautiful to be surrounded by nature. The girls are already asking to go back to the trail and I am hoping we can before it gets too cold.

Our 2015 list is complete!

Of all the bucket lists we put together fall might just be my favorite one. Is it bad that I am already thinking about next years list? I think we need to go bigger since we easily marked everything off our list this year.

Enjoy the rest of your fall friends!

Giveaway & 2015 Fall Bucket List

Yesterday I shared our 2015 summer highlights as we closed the final chapter on the best summer yet!
With summer now “over” I thought it was the perfect time to share our Fall bucket list so you can see what we have planned for the next couple of months.
I think I put just about every fall like thing to do on our list and a piece of me thinks we very likely may not complete it all, but why not try?! After all fall is the best season and deserves to be celebrated.
Yup, I am already tired just reading it.
So much fun to cram into the next few weeks. It is going to be awesome.
Speaking of awesome how about this?!
You know how many lattes that will buy you this fall?!
Okay, maybe only like 5 big ones but still that is pretty awesome.
Plus by entering you will get a chance to connect to some pretty amazing Instagram accounts.

Spring Bucket List: Update #1

Hello Monday!
Another week, another chance to try and embrace Monday.
If you’ve been around a while you know that I have a love hate relationship with Mondays.
Pretty much meaning I love to hate them. Who’s with me?!

A few weeks ago I shared our Spring Bucket List. Since then we have been hard at work checking things off and I thought it would be fun to share our progress.

Dye Easter Eggs

This year we decided to go with the Kool-Aid approach. This method may have smelled better than using vinegar but the eggs were not very pretty in my opinion. Maybe that is why I forgot to take a picture of the finished product. The girls did have a lot of fun and they weren’t holding their noses the whole time, so I will call it a win.

Grow Something
We have definitely been growing something. Knowing I would be starting my garden from seed in February/March I waited to do the seeds and plants section of Marissa’s science book until recently. She has been a big help taking care of my little seedlings and she even grew her own green bean plant during an experiment.
Easter Egg Hunt
A couple weeks ago we met up with some of our favorite friends for some Easter Egg hunting fun. It always amazes me that HUNDREDS of eggs are collected in two minutes. We came home with way more candy than we needed and had a great afternoon playing and having fun.

Fly A Kite
One year I will actually buy a kite that doesn’t cost $1, but this was not the year. Marissa was so excited to assemble her own kite for the first time. Then we were able to head to the back yard and fly them around for a while. I guess living in an area with very few trees does have at least one benefit. Not everyone can fly kites in their own back yard.

Bake A Spring Treat
On Easter we baked up some resurrection rolls. It was fun talking with the girls about the symbolism of the marshmallow (Jesus) and the tomb (crescent roll). Don’t worry though, I was pretty clear in explaining that Jesus was not really a marshmallow. We popped them in the oven and 3 days (or 12 minutes) later the tomb was empty. I love Marissa’s face in the last picture. She was so surprised.

We are making some great progress working through our list. Now if the weather would just cooperate a little better we might be able to finish it off in the next few weeks.

Did you make a spring bucket list

How is yours going?

Spring Bucket List 2015

It’s spring, it’s spring, it’s glorious wonderful spring!

It felt like winter would last forever (some days it still does). But the days are getting longer, the temperatures are getting warmer (slowly) and the birds are starting to sing.

We seem to have made it through another winter!

Last year I discovered I have a love for bucket lists. Which makes complete since since I am a “list girl”. If it’s going to get done, it better be wrote down. We made and completed a summerfall and Christmas bucket list. With spring here and so much to do what better way to celebrate than with another bucket list to help keep us on track?

Feel free to steal our list, or make your own and share it with us.

What are you most looking forward to doing this spring?
