Friday Favorites 1.18.18

Hello Friday!

I originally wasn’t going to post today, then I decided why not?! The world of blogging has been WAY more enjoyable when I do things because I want to, not because I feel like I have or need to.

This weekends plans consist of house framing on Saturday and a bowling tournament for Russ Sunday. No, he doesn’t bowl. It’s a work event that he’s attending and lucky for him, he’s a pretty good bowler. I am pretty impressive too… but only on the Wii. Totally counts, right?

Let’s take a look at this weeks Friday Favorites!

Making Memories

This week we finally handed over the keys to “our” house.

Such a bittersweet moment.

Melting Snowman

Do yourself a HUGE favor and buy one of these. I feel pretty confident that you won’t regret it.

Russ’ mom has one at the house and I can’t even count how many times this guy has been played with. It is SO much fun and never gets old. Trust me.

Ladies Game Night!

It’s ladies game night and I am SO excited!!

Tonight I get to hang out with the ladies from my church family and play some games! No, we won’t actually be playing Monopoly #TheGameThatNeverEnds. It feels like forever since our last girl night, even thought it has only been a month, and I am so excited to be together once again!

14 Days of Love 2018

Last year I hosted a mini photo challenge for the first 14 days of February and I’m excited to announce that it’s back for 2018!

Mark your calendars, start snapping photos, and tell your friends.

We’d love to have you join us on February 1st!

Kohls

Earlier this week I shared that Russ received a job promotion. After a life of “blue-collar” work, he has taken an office position. This job comes with a lot of changes for him, including a whole new wardrobe.

I am so thankful for places like Kohls who make it easy to save.

I ordered 4 pairs of pants and 6 shirts and saved $311.70 by shopping sales and coupons.
Paid 167.02.
Saved $10.00 with Ebates.
And received $30 Kohls Cash.

Not too shabby at all! I still need to pick him up some more clothes, but I was excited to get a great start so effortlessly and affordably.

  1. Congrats to Russ! That is some pretty awesome savings at Kohl’s!
I can’t wait for our love photo challenge! So excited!

  2. My hubs got a promotion too, so proud! Girl, you are gonna go get your game on tonight and you’re gonna slay it! Have so much fun, I can hear the sweet laughter now!

  3. What a happy post this is – beautiful bittersweet moments leading to the fulfillment of your dream, a ladies game night (that sounds like so much fun!!), a job promotion (HOORAY for your hubby!) and bargains at Kohl’s – love that place!! Have the best time tonight!! xo – Brenda // Chatting Over Chocolate

  4. Wow on the new job wardrobe and your savings! Enjoy game night. i really want to do that with friends too! The snowman is so cute! Excited for the photo challenge too!

  5. How exciting for Russ and your family!! Is he happy to be moving to an office job? My hubby went from blue to white collar a couple years ago too and I think he’ll always miss the blue collar work 🙂 Have so much fun at girls night and girl you rocked those deals at Kohls!!!!!!

    1. He is happy and a bit nervous too. I think Russ will be the same exact way too. He has just done blue collar work for SO long. This is a really huge change.

  6. Hey sweet friend! My work day is complete and I’m winding down by stopping by your place! I swear Russ and Mitchell would be FAST friends. Mitchell loves to bowl and is always wanting to go. He would be thrilled if his company did a bowling gig. Congrats to him on the new job!!! That game made me laugh – I’ve been wishing for some snowman melting to go down here and luckily it did pretty well today!!! We still have about three inches in the shady spot! Off to catch up! xo

    1. They totally would. I think that any time you talk about him. They both seem like pretty handy dudes too, so there would be a lot to talk about. Hopefully all of your snow is gone. It’s been warm and windy here all weekend. Feels like spring, but I know it’s a hoax.

  7. Love a good shopping deal session. Way to go! Scott changed jobs in the fall and his old work place was super formal. His new one is way more casual so we had to buy him more jeans. He only had one pair to wear on the weekends before! It’s crazy how every place and job is different. xoxo ERIN

    1. Lololol! That is so funny. Russ has been wearing uniforms for years now, so it feels like he never actually gets to wear his clothes. Now he has a whole bunch of clothes, that he’ll only wear to work. It will be fun seeing him all dressed up more often though.

  8. I 100% agree with the cute little snowman! Shelly gifted one to Hope and we have all enjoyed playing with it!!! Looking forward to the photo challenge! I never complete them but there’s got to be a first time for everything, right?! 🙂

    1. SO fun! My girls think it is the best thing ever. There totally is! One of the things that helps me finish is to start working on the prompts sooner than later and saving the photos in my drafts! I also find these mini challenges to be much easier to finish.

  9. Congrats to Russ on the new job! That sounds like a nice opportunity. My kids would love that snowman toy. I marked my calendar for the February photo challenge 🙂 Hope you’re having a great weekend!

  10. Kohl’s is the best! I always get the best deals there, and they suck me back in by giving me Kohl’s cash to do more shopping! I added the snowman to my Amazon wishlist. Thanks for the recommendation!
