The Blended Blog Asks, January 2018

Hello Friday!

I am super excited to once again be linking up for TBB Asks. These question were the perfect, easy way to kick off the weekend, moving weekend at that.

Take a look at my answers and feel free to grab the graphic and play with The Blended Blog ladies. The linkup goes live first thing Monday morning.

My answers…

1. Resolutions or No Resolutions?
No New Year resolutions. If you know me well, you know that I love goals. In fact I have been sharing my goal posts on the blog since January of 2015! However, I am a firm believer that if you want to do something, just do it. Each month is a new opportunity. Don’t ever think you blew it and give up for the rest of the year.

2. Love snow or No Snow?
If it is going to be FREEZING cold, it might as well snow. But no ice, please! We once lost power for over a week due to an ice storm.

3. Name a New Place you want to go this year?
Uuuuhhhhh?!?! I have no clue. I want to live in my new house! Does that count?!

4. Would you rather have a new Hair cut or Hair color?
I have never been much for cutting my hair so I think I’ll say color. The grays have got to go!

5. Name one special thing you want to do for yourself this year?
I want to plan a meetup with Stephanie. We have talked about it until we are blue in the face, but this is the year to make it happen.

6. Least Favorite thing about January?
Winter without Christmas is always a bit depressing.

7. Most Favorite thing about January?
It’s Russ’ birthday month!

8. When do you take down your Holiday decorations?
Typically I always take them down on December 26th. Not only am I ready to have “my house back” but I also always want them packed away before my birthday. That’s right, I just turned 34 on 12/28!

9. Do you diet in January?
Nope. I may give up sweets for a week or two though. More like a sugar detox.

10. What area of your home do you want to organize the most?
Seeing that 90% of my belonging are now in boxes, the whole thing. Seriously though, I want to be REALLY organized when unpacking things. By the time we move in some of our stuff will have been in storage for nearly a year! If we haven’t missed it, do we really need it?

11. Favorite Winter Comfort Food?
Baked goods of any kind and a warm pot of soup. Oh! Mashed potatoes, I love mashed potatoes.

12. Favorite Guilty Pleasure?
Binge watching anything on Netflix and donuts. I bet you knew I was going to say donuts, didn’t you?

  • I like snow, which is good since I live in a place where we could have snow on the ground 1/2 the year. πŸ˜‰ And a meet up with Stephanie sounds like it would be sooooo much fun!

    • The thought of that much snow totally blows my mind! It would be AMAZING!!!!

  • Living on Cloud Nine

Yep, I had no doubt doughnuts would be in this post!!! LOVE! And I have leftover mashed potatoes in my fridge so i think lunch today will be mashed potatoes and a cookie, lol!! Hope things are going smoothly, been thinking of you all week!

    • I may or may not have had two donuts yesterday. But since I cried at least a dozen times, I think they were deserved. Friend, moving was HARD. Especially after less than 4 hours of sleep. Thank you so much for the thoughts. Keep them coming because we aren’t finished yet!

  • Brenda @ ChattingOverChocolate

This was such a fun read, friend! I couldn’t agree more about New Year Resolutions! Your choice of comfort foods sounds perfect, and you already know that you’re a girl after my own donut loving heart! πŸ˜‰ Cheers to a new year and the fact that the place you most want to go this year is coming up pronto! Praying for a smooth move for you guys! xoxo – Brenda // Chatting Over Chocolate

    • Thank you so much sweet friend. Keep those prayers coming! We pretty much got all of the big stuff moved, bu there is still more work to be done.

  • Heather Bramlett

Oh I just know you are ready for this move to be over and settled into your new house. I wish I could wiggle my nose (like BeWitch…remember that show?) and make it happen for you!
Of couse, you would say donuts! πŸ™‚
I so hope you and Stephanie get to meet up this year!

    • I am SO, SO, SO ready. At least we are nearly moved. We just need to finish up there, settle in here, and then we can focus on finishing our home. I LOVED that show btw. I hope so too!

  • That’s awesome about a meet up with Steph, hope it happens for you! My guilty pleasure is binge watching netflix too. I keep thinking I should stop…but no.

    • Oh me too, me too! Haha ha! We haven’t been finding much to watch lately so we’ve been watching The Office, again.

  • Donuts for the win! And yay for organising!

    • It will be overhwelming and glorious. I think the organizing will earn me a lot of donuts ;).

  • a new place I want to go this year…I really want to go back to the Smoky Mountains! We’ve were able to go a couple of times last year but only passed through. I want to go and stay!!!

    • That sounds AMAZING. I have said on our next trip we are going to the mountains. My girls have never been before and I would love for to change that.

  • I hope you and Steph get to finally meet up! Summer 2019…I’m coming for you so be ready. haha I am loving the cold right now but only because I’m covering up my out of shape self with layers and it makes me feel like I don’t need an excuse to stay inside and work on my house!

    • I will totally be ready. The crazy thing is, it will be here before you know it!

Summer is coming, right?! I feel like I need to drag my bottom back to the gym but moving this weekend alone was over 40K steps…. so at least I am getting in some cardio?

  • Yes to goals, no to resolutions! I’m right there with you!

    • They just feel like a waste of time. Glad it’s not just me.

  • Love that a blogger meetup is in your plans! Here’s to an awesome 2018!

    • It would be SO much fun. Cheers to that friend.

  • Whitney Jordan

Your new house definitely counts as the perfect destination for this year! Hope you and Steph get to meet up this year πŸ™‚ PS I feel like donuts make moving a little easier so be sure to splurge on some delicious donuts while you can still walk there!

    • We were so close to getting some, but we had just had them for my birthday. Maybe we can get some when we totally finish things up over there. There is still stuff to move and then we need to clean.

  • Welcome to the battle of the gray hair! Mine show up spiky out of the top of my head overnight!

    • YES!!!! Mine do the same darn thing Jen. UGH!!!! At least it make them easy to pluck.

  • Grey hair…no it’s called glittery honey. I have a lot of glittery hair and I am hopefully getting it all undazzled on Friday. (Hopefully!) Guess what? We’re awaiting an ice event today with the weather – I want to cry. And I think if you haven’t needed it in a year it’s time to move it on! xoxoxo

    • Hahaha! I am pretty sure moving this weekend doubled the amount of gray hairs that I have… not even joking. UGH! We were supposed to get one yesterday morning and it just rained all day instead. I hope the same thing happens for you. Crossing my fingers friend.

  • Erin Wetherbee

I always have said when we moved, I got rid of the most stuff since I touched every item in our house at least twice, once packing and once unpacking. I hope you get into your house soon! I can relate to so much, not huge into yearly resolutions and I am mostly curtailing sweets in an effort to get back to healthier eating habits. Happy belated birthday, I am 34 too!

    • Aaahhh that is so fun! I love realizing blogging friends are the same age. There are a few of us in that 34-35 range. I had thought that since I purged SO much, before we listed the house, that my purging efforts would be minimal when moving…. nope. There is A LOT of stuff to get rid of still.

  • Looking forward to seeing your new home. I love the binge donut thing! Made me smile. Happy New Year, pretty lady!

    • Hopefully I get another house update done sometime soon. I keep promising to do one, but I have just been too busy. Soon, soon.

  • Tammy Nelson

I agree Netflix and donuts are amazing !!! Happy Monday !

    • I mean, what else could a girl possibly need :P.

  • It’s my birthday month, too! Eek! I love January!

    • Haha! That is so much fun. Russ’ is coming up on the 27th!

  • Oh donuts how I love thee! Every Sunday it’s a fight for which donut place we go to, the kids like one place and Mr. and I like the other. While we like to be dictators on some things, I don’t think we can on the donut front, haha πŸ™‚ Yes to Netflix, Mr. and I have been watching Black Mirror, have you seen it? Can’t wait to see more of your new home!

    • Lol! What is the difference between the two shops?

I have not, I’ll check it out soon though!
