Mom Style with prAna

I received this product for free from Moms Meet (, May Media Group LLC, who received it directly from the manufacturer. As a Moms Meet blogger, I agree to use this product and post my honest opinion on my blog. The opinions posted are my own.

Over the past year I feel like I have learned a thing or two about mom style, including that it actually exists πŸ˜† . For years I only had two kinds of outfits, my “mom clothes” jeans that didn’t’ fit, old t-shirts, and hoodies or my “nice clothes” the stuff that I only wore when leaving the house for a date or to go to church. I completely embraced an outlook that said I wasn’t worth any effort. I never set out to intentionally do so, but day after day of putting myself on the back burner really wore me down and before long those weeks turned to months, turned to years.

In 2016 things began to change.

#1 I gave myself a clean start and purged my whole wardrobe 3 separate times over 12 months. I donated HUNDREDS of items that I didn’t love and didn’t wear.
#2 I decided to be more adventurous in my clothing style, color, & pattern choices and branch out more.
#3 I started buying versatile pieces that are both cute AND comfortable
#4 I learned that it is totally okay to get dressed in nice clothes just for me. This was the major key to success!

I discovered mom style but more than that, my mom style.

My mom style says that comfort and fashion can coexist. It is a classic look with modern flare. It fabric that moves with me wherever I may go.

Through my journey, companies like prAna have been a huge help. prAna makes versatile, stylish, and sustainable clothing that you can wear for any occasion. I was able to try out their Annexi pant and Cleo T-Shirt both of which left me swooning. So cute, so comfortable, so perfectly me.

I love how these simple, easy changes have made such a positive impact on the way I rock this thing called mom life. I hope you feel encouraged to make some positive changes in your life too.

After having Cam and being home with him and then watching my bestie’s little girl I got stuck in a rut of wearing jeans or yoga pants and a tshirt all the time. It made sense since I was always at home, but I started to get so down on myself and lose my self worth. I still wear those things a decent amount, but I’ve learned to dress for myself instead of for others and it’s made a huge difference. Love your outfit.

    • YES!!!!! I am 150% behind you on that one friend. I lived like that for like 5 years and at the end of it I just felt beat up. Mama has to make time for herself. Thank you.

  • Skater mom! My style is still work out clothes so yeah….I’ll get back to ya on that one LOL!!!!

    • Lololol! They are just so stinking comfortable!

  • Lizzie Simantz

Oh my gosh I love that outfit Beth! I’m all about a mix of comfort and fashion too – totally going to check out prAna!!

    • Yes! I pretty much love every single thing you wear so I can see how our styles would be really similar. We could shop together well friend.

  • I love your Mom style! I’m working on building a wardrobe of nice “at home” clothes too – wearing nice things just “for me.” Those pants are super cute and they do look comfy!

    • They are SO comfy with that fancy elastic waist, lol. It feels good to get dressed in clothes that I fee socially acceptable in instead of always wearing “my rags”. It really has made all the difference on my outlook.

  • Three boys and a girl blog

your mom style is precious!! my mom style usually consists of workout clothes…even on most days when i haven’t worked out haha. I have really been trying to put real clothes on most days, I find that I feel more productive when I do that!

    • YES! I totally feel more productive too and I find myself to be in a much better mood as well!

  • I love your style (writing style & clothing too)! πŸ˜‰ Cute and comfy is the best combo!!

    • Thank you so much Brenda. Happy Hump Day!

  • Heather Bramlett

You are to cute!! I love your “mom style” I try to add as many versatile pieces, as well! that I can wear through several seasons!!

    • Me too! You totally get more “bang for your buck that way”.

  • Leggings and tunics are so my mom style!! You look great! And comfy 😁

  • Thanks for hosting the linkup! My mom style has turned into my work style – praise God for leggings!

    • Haha! It is pretty hard to beat a great pair of leggings. Throw in a tunic and voila!

  • Super cute! You’ve definitely found your style!

    • YAY!!!!! So fun to think I have style. I used to be so stinking lost

  • My biggest style must is that I my clothes have to practical. I have to be able to move comfortably in my clothing. We are on the go so much that it’s important for my body to feel good in the clothing I choose.

    • Totally agree. Nobody has time to have to stop and adjust their wardrobe every 5 seconds. It is annoying and impractical.

  • I LOVE the outfit! I am all about comfort and versatility, but also looking put together. This look nails it.

    • You and I are totally on the same page. Thank you!

  • I love that you’re rocking your personal style!

    • Thanks Deena. I love that I actually like the clothes in my closet now days.

  • That looks like such a comfortable outfit! I absolutely love the cropped joggers trend!

    • I need to get some more of them. I didn’t have any but now I am thinking I should add another pair.

  • Whitney Jordan

So cute!! Love that this look is stylish, casual and works for so many mom situations! You did great! I feel like I’m starting to find my groove with my mom style. I shoot for stylish clothes that work for sitting on the floor playing, running errands and chasing busy kids paired with comfy shoes.

    • I LOVE your style Whitney. Every time you find a new floral piece I totally swoon and your outfits have been fantastic lately.

  • I love how much your style has changed over the last year. You’re really rocking it! Love the outfit you picked out, so comfortable yet makes you look put together.

    • It HAS changed so much. But then again I ditched 2/3 of my closet over the past 15 months so I guess it had to, lololol. Thanks friend.

  • My mother in law is going through this! She saw something on facebook that said to turn all of your clothes/hangers the opposite way in your closet. Once you wear something you hang it back the right way. Then after 6 months you see what you have worn and what you haven’t. Then you can donate the things you know you’re not wearing. I think that is such a fabulous way to purge. I am always like, β€˜oh I may wear that one day!’
    Sorry for the rambling. Ha.

I love your style! You always look adorable. And friend, your hair is so long. I am envious of those locks!!

    • That is a great idea. I actually took everything out of my closet on a few occasions too. Taking it out and putting it back in piece by piece really makes you evaluate things individually. I sorted through my closet 3 times last year and once a week or tow ago and every time I have, I have filled at least one garbage bag. CRAZY.

Thank you sweet friend. I really need to go have a trim done.

  • I love Mom’s Meet, they let me try the coolest stuff. I really like that t-shirt and the whole outfit looks so comfortable!

    • That shirt is totally a new favorite of mine. This was my first time to work with Mom’s Meet. Can’t wait to do it again.

  • I think figuring out mom style is hard. And even harder? It changes. With kids stages, with your age, with roles in live. Finding your style is an awesome accomplishment!

    • I would totally agree with that. I think it is especially hard when you have really young kiddos too. Which is why I wore grubby clothes for 5 years, lol!

  • Those pants are amazing!! They look so stylish, but also comfy! I’m all about the comfort when I’m out with the babies!

    • They are pretty stinking comfortable, elastic waist and all.

  • Those are two totally you pieces!! You need to get some jogger sweats, youd look darling!

    • Oh I DO need some jogger sweats! You know me too well.

      • Im looking for a pair too, we can be twins πŸ™‚ Gap is having a 40% sale right now if that tempts you.

        • It would if they had a store to make returns easier. I used to shop in there all the time but when my store closed, I stopped. I know, you are cringing right now. Your Gap love is strong.

          • Indeed! Lol, but I get it because having $5.99 taken out of pocket for return shipping is sad.

  • familyandthelakehouse

You know, I really loved this post. I’m a hot mess about 98% of the time. I usually only get “dressed up” to go to the dentist or for a doctor’s appointment. Sad right? This post was encouraging. I need to listen to your words of it being “totally okay to dressed in nice clothes just for me.” Thanks, girl. Tomorrow I may actually brush my hair, put on make up AND wear a matching outfit!

    • It isn’t sad, it is just #momlife. I lived it for YEARS! I was exactly like you friend. In the spirit of being totally honest I still don’t get dressed EVERY day. But I do try and pick a few days a week to do something for me. I always find when I do a few things happen. 1 I feel better, 2 I am more productive, 3 My husband looks at me like what in the world happened to you. The more I got dressed the less this happened. It was so funny to see him weirded out by me actually getting dressed in something nice. Good luck!

  • I love those pants. This post is so timely for me. I was just thinking I need to get out of my “homeschool mama” rut and put a little more effort into myself for my day. Thanks for reminding me!

    • From one homeschool mama to another, I totally get it.

  • Loving the pants! They can easily turn from a casual to an evening look with some stilettos πŸ™‚

    • I never even thought to try that. What a fun idea!

  • You are my mom style hero! I love this outfit and your style πŸ™‚ Go girl and thanks for sharing those companies!

    • Aaaawwwww!!!!! Now I am blushing. Thanks for making a girl feel good.

  • I am totally loving your style! That shirt looks super soft, and those pants are so much fun! Not going to lie, you (and Lindsay) were my different outfit a day inspirations. πŸ™‚

    • Oh my goodness that is just the sweetest ever friend. I never would have made the changes I made without other bloggers inspiring me. So glad that I am doing that for others now.
