Monthly Goals, February 2017

Let’s take a look at what I completed…

* Get back to regularly scheduled programming after the holidays.
* Find a few new bloggers to read and engage with in 2017.
* Work on planning out the next couple months and find some new linkups to join.
* Have 2 family game nights.
* Create a winter bucket list to keep us busy until spring.
* Have 1 family movie night.
* Find some new workout routines.
* Get out the door on gym days by 5:00 a.m.
* Open my Bible more.

* Resume classes with a smile on January 3rd… today. (Just think of me, smiling through the pain, right now.)
* Decide if we want to participate in our co-op project fair. Pick projects if we do.
* Celebrate Russ #37!
* Plan ways to log our year better.
* Start planning Valentines festivities.

And what I didn’t …

* Pray more as a family.
* Girls night.
* Try 2 new recipes.
* Average 4 workouts a week, 17 for the month of January.

When I started writing this post I expected to have SEVERAL things that weren’t crossed off, so I am actually pretty proud of what I accomplished this month. For the first several weeks it just felt like we were spinning our tires, not getting anywhere. Apparently that isn’t entirely true!

*Notes We decided to NOT participate in the project fair. Life is just too busy for us in February.
Also, I am logging our year by keeping a very brief journal and using a one photo a day app.

Honesty time. I have mixed feelings about even setting goals for the month of February. February is just such a short month and it is PACKED full for us this year. So instead of cancelling my goals I decided to adapt them, set them realistically. So if things seem scaled down, it’s because they intentionally are.

*Start a list of post ideas for the future.

* Have 1 family game night.
* Work on our winter bucket list.

* Average 4 workouts a week, 16 for the month of January.
* Run 5 miles twice.

* Read Extreme Prayer.

Home School-
* Stay on top of our schoolwork.
* Have Emily read more.
* Have Marissa work on multiplication facts more.

* Celebrate Emily’s 6th birthday.
* Try 1 new recipe.
* Send snail mail.

What do you have planned for February?

    Way to kick butt at your goals last month! That’s awesome!! Great goals added for February too. I love that you always have your goals ready to go, so you can begin working on them. I need to be better about that.

    • I usually write these posts a day or two before the month ends. It is the only thing that keeps me on track.

  • These are awesome goals as usual. Sometimes we just need to be realistic about things!

    • Isn’t that the truth! I would always be disappointed otherwise.

  • Great job on your goals, and it’s ok that you have a shorter list this month – I’m sure you’ll do great!

    • Thank you so much Dara. We have to give ourselves grace.

    I’d say your January was pretty successful! I like the idea of keeping February short and sweet 🙂

    • Especially with how busy this month is going to be! Goodness gracious.

  • Girl, you had the BEST January! I can’t believe all of the things that you crossed off! February here you come!

    • Haha! Watch out I am coming for ya :P. This month sure has been eventful already!

  • You dominated January! I know that you are going to rock February too!

    • You always have so much confidence in me Thank you!

  • Whoa! Way to crush those goals, friend. I need to take a look at ours and see what we were able to accomplish. Life always has ways of throwing those curve balls. 🙂

    • Oh my goodness it sure does. I got one of those thrown to me yesterday. Wish I had more time to tell you all about it, but it’s still curving, lol!

      • I’m ready to listen anytime 😉

        • Well I think its all out now with yesterdays post but Saturday when I wrote that I was mid craziness, lol. We were getting ready to go pick her up and drive her to KC and I no time to dish all of the details.

  • I picked up stamps on Monday so I could send more snail mail this month, too. I just want to say thank you to my friends for their love, support and such and want to do it with handwritten notes.

    • Look at what I wrote above you 🙂 People love when you send them random notes…I had no idea the responses I would get back when I did it a couple of years ago.

      • I am going to do it! I would love to add a bit of unexpected cheer to friends lives.

        • Oh man I had the same exact thoughts when I wrote that down. I really want to follow through with it too.

  • I bought a bunch of cards to send some snail mail but then never did. One lent I tried to send one letter a day, sending people in my life reasons I was grateful for our friendship, I was shocked at how many messages I got back saying my card was exactly what they needed that day. It was really nice. Good goals this month and yay for crushing your Jan. goals!

    • That is the best idea ever. I am really hoping to get started on this one next week.

    Great goals for the month! You got so much done in January. I love your goal of writing snail mail, exercising and that you’ve adjusted your goals for a busy month. Sometimes I forget to take life into account when I’m writing my to do lists 🙂

    • YES! And we forget all of the little unexpected things that are bound to pop up too!

  • I think you accomplished plenty in January. I’m really impressed! My main goal for February is to focus on exercise a bit more. I hope I can achieve that one!

    • Once again I am wishing I was closer too you. I mean, wouldn’t that be fun!

  • Meghan Flinn

    You always do great on your goals (in my opinion)! A family game night sounds fun for February!!

    • Thank you so much friend. They are always a favorite around here!

  • Pretty great! Of course though girl’s night gets put on the back burner right? I have been trying to have one since before Christmas and obviously it’s not going great 🙂

    • Well they did when my BFF got put on bed rest for sure :(. Haha, hopefully we both get one sooner than later.

  • Great accomplishments!
