Monthly Goals, December 2016



Let’s take a look at what I completed…

Participate in a giveaway

* Evaluate progress on my long term 2016 goals
* Finish making revamps to my page
* Work on our fall bucket list
* Celebrate Thanksgiving
* Have a movie or game night, maybe both
* Do more squats
* Start making plans for Advent

* Memorize 3 scriptures
* Continue having the week prepped on Sundays
* Enjoy Thanksgiving break.
* Re-plan Marissa’s math curriculum and spread it out a bit more.
* Evaluate to see if we are on track.
* Try 2 new recipes
* Decorate for Thanksgiving
* Decorate for Christmas
* Use a one photo a day app
* Start Christmas shopping
* Make a Christmas bucket list
* Doodle at least two chalk boards
* Have a girls night with Anna

And what I didn’t …

* 4 workouts a week 
* Eat more protein
* Find a daily devotion and do it

I think with a goal list as long as last months was, I should be happy. I did put fort effort into all of my goals, even the ones I didn’t complete. I just can’t bring myself to cross them off. As for Gym visits, I blame a late Halloween night and election Tuesday. I did find a devotion to do and I love that it can be delivered straight to my inbox. I just haven’t been consistent about reading them every day.

If you take a look at my December goals you’ll notice one major change, I cut back. For the most part I love being ambitious and having long lists of goals to complete. But I honestly don’t feel like December is the month to pile loads of expectation onto ourselves. There is already so much to do and keep up with. Simplifying my goals for this month just felt like the right thing to do.

    You are a goal accomplishing master! You deserve to take it easy in December. I think I’d have such a hard time staying focused on school once Christmas season hits! And I think I need to pick your brain on growing my social media/blog followers! You are a pro!

    • Oh goodness I wouldn’t say a pro, but I have more than doubled my following this year and that feels huge.

  • Girl you rocked those goals! And I totally agree, Christmas time is not the time to pile on goals. Which reminds me, I should probably take a look at my goals, to see how I did… and maybe make a winter bucket list…..

    • I was thinking about making a Winter bucket list too. Maybe a simple list to get us through the boring winter months. Jan, Feb, March.

  • You did a FANTASTIC job with your November goals! I can’t set goals because it’s already hard enough checking items off my to do list. Haha! Facebook is such a tough social media platform. I absolutely refuse to pay to promote anything, so I only average about 3 new followers a week. It’s frustrating though, because my IG and Twitter is growing so quickly!

    • Haha! I use my goals as a sort of to do list myself. Girl I am the same exact way. I absolutely can not stand the algorithms either. I feel like they are out to get me.

    Great job! It’s hard to get things done around the holidays, but you’re doing so well. Love the shopping goal – I need to get mine done, too. I also need to get my cards done and wrap gifts. My goals for December include lots of family fun and baking. Should be a pretty fantastic month 🙂 I’m hoping to exercise, too, so I’ll have to bundle the kids up and get walking!

    • I think with goals like that you are DEFINITELY going to have a pretty great month. I also love that you plan to keep walking. I hope I can get my shopping goal, I feel like I am so so close.

  • I am constantly amazed at how much you get done. I didn’t write any goals, but if you just look at my to do list, you’ll see way more not crossed off than crossed off. 🙁

    • Life has a way of happening and doing that friend. Sometimes just being able to cross something off is enough though. Especially during a busy month like December!

    WOAH. You did SO much!!!
    I’m constantly on the struggle bus when it comes to getting more protein in my diet. I have started buying eggs in bulk and hard boiling them. Each morning I eat a few before or right after a run/workout (a little paprika sprinkled on them gives some flavor) and that seems to be woking out well.
    LOVE the 3.3 miles for your birthday! I do that each year, too!

    • Oh goodness I HATE hard boiled eggs. I go for egg whites. I take one egg and about 6-8 T of egg whites and scramble them. If I am being totally honest I used to gag every time I ate them but after a year, I finally don’t mind it :P. I wish I was exaggerating, but I’m not.

      I started that on my 31st birthday. Its the perfect tradition!

    • YES! I am especially glad since I was really sick for the first 4 days too. I am finally feeling almost better today.

  • I love your buffalo plaid graphic! I am not doing goals officially on the blog this month just because I feel a little overwhelmed, but I still have a long to-do list! A devotional delivered to my inbox sounds just perfect!

  • I’m with you 100% on cutting back during December! December should be a time to relax a little and enjoy snuggling with family. And look at you accomplishing so much last month!! Go girl!

    I need to really focus on growing my FB page… I have really neglected growing that audience, so that’s one of my NY resolutions for the blog for 2017! That’s awesome that you’re nearing 1000 likes… and ya know, I’m not even sure if I follow your FB page… going to check now to see if I do!

    • Thanks for checking friend :).Growing Facebook is HARD stuff. I only had 424 on January 1st though…. I’d be thrilled if I earned 600 more next year. Sometimes those algorithms make growth seem hopeless.

      And YES! I kind of think I should have just made my December goal doing our bucket list now… too late for that though.
