My Christmas/Birthday Wishlist, 2016

Last week I shared the girls’ Christmas wishlist and I thought it would be fun to share mine too. Since My birthday is a short 3 days after Christmas, I combined my birthday list with my Christmas list. I kind of hate lumping the two events together but lets just be real, it happens.

Russ and I don’t put a lot of focus on presents, so I should probably confess that I usually end up buying myself most of my wish list after the holidays. But it is still fun to share what I have my eyes and heart set on

Fleece Pants (They come in longs!!!)
Chalk Lettering Book
Cake Stand
Ikea & Kohls Gift Cards
Dutch Oven
Mustard Scarf

I feel like compared to other years my list is pretty simple, pretty inexpensive, and pretty small. But it is full of things I’d love to have and would use. Those two things combining into one are key.

What’s on your list?
Did I miss anything good?

Love your wish list. I laughed when you said you usually buy for yourself because I’m the same way. You deserve it all momma!

    • Oh friend it makes me feel SO much better to know that I am not alone in that :).

  • Pretty much yes to everything on your list. I really want that chalk lettering book!!

    • Wouldn’t that be so much fun! I bet its full of fun tricks and such.

  • Amy Smith

I love gift cards. I don’t think they are impersonal at all! I just wish we had an IKEA closer.

    • I don’t either. Me getting what I really want is always a great thing. I do too. My closest one is just over 2 hours away.

  • These are some awesome items! Those boots are pretty and so affordable. And mustard totally is your colour!!

    • I never thought I would look good in mustard but it does totally work for me :).

  • Susan

Great list! How tall are you? Thanks for mentioning that they come in long….

    • Thank you, you are welcome! I am a little over 5’10”.

  • Lizzie Simantz

I’ve been wanting a mustard scarf forever now and that one is so cute. I also buy myself the things I want when I can since we really aren’t about presents for eachother either. I can always use a gift card to Ikea, I want everything in that store!!

    • It is so cute and it was on sale when I made this… probably isn’t now :P. It makes me feel so much better to know I am not the only one to buy their own “presents” too.

  • I love the colour of that dutch oven!

  • That book would be perfect for you! πŸ™‚

  • What a great list! I’m with ya. I often draw a blank on what I’d like but then can go shopping and pick up random things any day.

    • I have an ongoing list of random things going on inside my head. But if anyone asks for ideas, I am bound to draw a blank.

  • So I totally just put that chalk lettering book in my Amazon wish list! Who knew that even existed?! I want!

    • I have knows for a LONG time now :P. I think Whitney from Polka Dotty Place said something about it a year ago and I have wanted it ever since! I bet its pretty great.

  • Heather Bramlett

Great gift ideas!! I have that mustard scarf and LOVE it!

    • Oh see, now I REALLY need it! I have word that it is good!

  • I am so happy to see that mustard scarf on your wish list!!

    • It’s so comfy and pretty and I should have bought it already because it was really cheap on Black Friday #fail.

  • Desiree @ Macke Monologues

The book of Chalk Lettering is totally you! I hope you get that one!!

    • Me too friend. I bet it would be so helpful.

  • I love your list! I have that scarf in burgundy and I love it. I hope you get it! XOXO

    • Another testimony to the scarfs awesomeness. I really need to get it for sure!

  • Whitney Jordan

Love your list! You’d really enjoy the Chalk lettering book, that mustard scarf is beautiful and I love collecting cake stands. I’ve always wanted one of those Dutch ovens – you should look at Sams because my Sams had a really great one for around $30/$35

    • That one IS the one from Sams :). Oh goodness friend. Great minds. I asked Santa for it last year but no luck. I am hoping this is the year I get one.

  • I wanted that chalk lettering book for the longest time! I just LOVE following her Instagram and seeing all her talented chalkboards. I hope you get it. I’d love to see what kind of things you could do since your chalkboards are already so good!

    • I hope I get it too. I’d love to feel more confident totally free handing a board. Did you notice the dutch oven on my list?! That one comes from Sams!

  • My brother was born on Christmas! I always feel bad for him πŸ™‚ I think you should be writing that book on chalk lettering, you have some serious skills!

    • Oh man, that really stinks. I think all birthdays from the 22nd through New Years Day are for people that got jipped :P. Everyone is always busy, distracted and/ or out of town on my birthday. I’m sure he has similar feelings.

  • chall1018

Great list! While that chalk lettering book looks awesome, I think you probably could have written the book! You’re wonderful at it.

    • Oh my goodness you are way too kind friend, thank you.

  • And you know what… you deserve every single one of this items!

  • Meghan Flinn

Chris’ birthday is right after Christmas too and as much as I don’t like to lump them together it is bound to happen. Love the classic cake stand and the color of the Dutch oven! I hope you go on a fun shopping spree after Christmas πŸ™‚

    • I hope so too! i mostly want that cake stand for blog photos. One without an edge would be perfect :P!

  • Beth you should totally start celebrating your half birthday! πŸ™‚

    • I have talked about doing that for YEARS now. But I never do since it is so close to Marissa’s. Maybe I should take the plunge anyways. I really dislike my birthday and that is kind of sad really.
