2016 Holiday Home Tour & Link-up

Today has to be one of my all time favorite blogging days of the year. It’s the day I get to share a part of my home with you, and I get to snoop around and see so many of yours too. I struggled with how I wanted to do this post. Not a lot has changed around here since last years tour and I didn’t want to post the exact same photos as before. I did my best to make things feel new and exciting. I hope you enjoy it!

Most of the decorations can be found in the living room. Our huge tree, mantel, advent calendar, nativity set, card wreath, train around the tree, advent wreath, and even a gallery wall that I change just for Christmas.

I added some lighted garland to the top of the kitchen cabinets and I LOVE it. It is the perfect extra touch and I might just leave it up for the rest of winter. I also picked up a new table runner at Hobby Lobby that I adore and a believe banner at Target.

This year we have 6 Christmas trees! Everyone has one in their bedroom, we have one in the school room, and we added one to our front porch. As much as I hate to say it, I think we are maxed out on trees in this house. We may need to move to somewhere bigger ;).

Beautiful! I love your dining room decorations!! Every room looks so festive. Christmas decorations are the best and make me smile so big.

    • Thank you so much Jess! I LOVE our home at Christmas time.

  • Amy Smith

I love your home! Everything looks so warm & cozy. I want to come over! Is that just tissue paper in the crate or are those little gifts?

    • Well, I want you to come over :). My girls can “babysit” the boys and we can play with cameras and drink coffee :P. That was/ is Russ’ beer advent that I made him!

      • Amy Smith

        That would be perfect!

  • So warm, cozy and Christmassy!! Love the ornaments hanging from the lighting! So creative!

    • I almost forgot that. I did that last year for the first time. I just love the extra touch it gives the room.

  • Meghan Flinn

I still can’t get over that you have 6 trees! I find it a lot of work putting two up, and one is super duper mini! I especially love your tall living room one and the white one! And I love the train set up in front… I can see Noah liking that! Your house looks absolutely beautiful!!!

    • I’m not gonna lie it took me about 16 hours of non stop decorating (with little girls to help) to put it all up. I love the big tree. A tall room just needs a big tree if you ask me. The girls LOVE those white trees too. That train was one that my parents decided they didn’t want anymore, can you believe that?! We will love it for years to come. Thank you Meghan. I do love our house, but I also am ready for a change so we’ll see how the next year goes.

  • Lizzie Simantz

Everything is so pretty and cozy, the perfect combination if you ask me! And I’ve been meaning to tell you that I love your dining room area! Your trees are so pretty!

    • Thank you, thank you! I love the dining room area too. We remodeled it about a year ago and it made such a HUGE difference.

  • Love it all!! We put lighted garland on top of our cabinets too (it’s currently sitting in a box in the kitchen waiting to be put up. Maybe next year I’ll get around to making an Advent wreath for the house, I love that idea.

    • Baha ha! That is awesome friend. Its A LOT of work putting up all the decorations right? That wreath is so easy. I just used garland to make it, mason jars, candles and epsom salt. The Christ candle is one from the dollar store slipped in a holder. Seriously cheap and SO easy.

  • It looks so cozy! If we did Christmas, I’d surely have a tree in every room too.

    • I dream of every room being fully decorated someday. Something to shoot for I suppose.

  • Oh Beth! Your home is beautiful!!! All your trees have me so jealous! I love more than one tree in a home. Everything looks so good!! Have a great day =)

    • Thank you so much! I LOVE all of the trees too. It feels so magical at night.

  • Gorgeous home! Thank you so much for the party. I’m only sharing one link to my easy homemade Christmas Baileys but I’m including a pretty FREE printable in the post. Hope your holiday planning is going smooth and stress-free! XO

Your home is so festive and beautiful! I love those Mason jars with candles in them. I am a sucker for mason jars. And I love that you have 6 trees. I really need to step-up my Christmas tree game. I’m still so far behind. My hope is to post and link-up tomorrow.

    • That advent wreath is SO simple and SO easy. It is one of my favorite parts too because it really captures what Christmas is about. I can’t wait to see your home friend. It is always so pretty.

  • Oh Beth, it’s all so beautiful!! That buffalo plaid table runner is perfect!! And I love every single one of your trees! And we also need to talk about that gallery wall of yours… OMG, I DIE! I want a gallery wall like that now, but I have no walls to put one on. Haha.

Thank you, thank you so much for inviting me to join you ladies! It was so exciting co-hosting my very first link-up.

    • Thank you! I got that from Good ol Hobby Lobby and have been waiting to use it forever. I took my old one and put it on my desk to make it feel a little more festive while I work :). That Gallery wall was a work of love girl. It took a lot of work and time to get it to that point, but I LOVE it too.

I am SO happy to have you. We’ll have to do something else before next years home tour happens :).

  • I love your home and if I have it my way will be stopping by next Summer ๐Ÿ˜‰

But your post reminded me that I need to get us a nativity. We don’t have one and I’d love to add that to our collection.

    • That would basically be the coolest thing ever

OOoohhhh that would be a good addition. Maybe you can score one after Christmas. Mine is almost as old as me!

  • So beautiful! Look at all those trees! I love the mason jars with candles, too!

    • Thank you so much Becky. That advent wreath is easily one of my favorite parts.

  • Jen

Wow- you have some gorgeous decorations!!! Great job ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Carrie @ Curly Crafty Mom

I love how you even decorated your kitchen! So pretty! I am in love with the buffalo plaid runner in your dining room, too! I need to take photos with the lights dimmed next year!

    • Thanks Carrie! I got that table runner from Hobby Lobby and giggled all the way to the check out. It is so much fun. I took them in a brighter home this year so the dimmed lights were a fun change this go around.

  • Heather Bramlett

Love all of it!! I would love to have 6 trees. I never thought of putting one on my porch! Great idea!!

    • I had the idea last year, but didn’t have the extra tree until this year. It is perfect! Our front porch is covered and huge so why not? I just wish I had a Santa to put by it!

  • Your house looks so beautiful and festive!! 6 trees! I cant even fathom but know its spectacular ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Thank you, thank you! It is so much work, but so much fun.

  • I love that everyone got a tree!!! So fun! And I love the addition of the garland and the lights in your kitchen. Everything is gorgeous friend!! So happy we did this!

    • I love that too. They make the best night lights ;). Thank you so much. Let’s do it again next year!

  • Your house looks so cozy and festive! I love all the trees! I am going to work on a post tomorrow and try to link up before the end of the week. So fun!

    • Wahoo! Can’t wait to see your decorations.

  • Whitney Jordan

So pretty!! I love those giant snowflake lights on your last tree. The kid trees and the school room tree are so sweet. The trains below the trees are such a special touch. Your lights and garland in the kitchen make the space seem so cozy. Your house looks perfect at Christmas. Good job!

    • Aren’t those fun. Those used to get hung on the house but half of them burnt out so I had to figure SOMETHING to do with them :). Thank you so much.

  • I just love all of your decor! This year is a little disappointing for me since we just purchased our home and don’t have a big budget for holiday decor. I’m so excited to spend this year planning and gathering ideas, though and your home has plenty of gorgeous inspiration!

    • Oh Mariah, I totally get that. In 2011 I lost 98% of my decorations in a tornado, so I had to start from scratch. Between renting for a year and building a house, it took a few years and some very generous people to get me to where I am now. I also did A LOT of 75% off after Christmas shopping for several years in a row. Don’t get discouraged, you’ll get there.

Thank you for your sweet compliment too.

      • Ah, how scary! I do love a good after season sale, so I’ll be hitting up all my favorite stores before New Years looking for deals ๐Ÿ˜‰

        • Totally do, it’s the only way to shop for Christmas stuff!

  • Desiree @ Macke Monologues

It’s all so pretty!! I love your mantel, and that the girls have a tree. We put up a tiny tree in Marcus’ room this year and he thinks it’s about the neatest thing ever.
I’m also in love with your manger.
Your advent candles are so great!! Each year Scott and I say we need to create a wreath, but your idea is perfect! I may have to follow suit next year.

    • Christmas trees make the BEST night lights ever. That manger set is almost as old as I am, so it has a lot of sentimental value.

You totally should that wreath is just garland that I connected, mason jars with epsom salt in them and dollar store candles. I love it SO much too.

  • Fancy, schmancy! Plus a tree on the front porch! So cute. I will bring some cookies over and we can sit in front of your tree and binge on Holiday movies, K?

    • I’m going to hold you to that :P. Wouldn’t that be so fun. You might freeze around these parts though. Wear a parka :P.

  • Love all of you decorations! But really, I LOVE the hooks to hang princess dresses on!! SO PRECIOUS!!

  • Oh my goodness Beth! Your home is so cozy and inviting! I love it all…but your dining room and the garland over your mirror might be my favorites. Love the bright red…oh and your plaid stockings! So festive!

Whitney @ Come Home For Comfort

    • Thank you so much! I have had a lot of fun decorating our home and it feels a little bit more festive every single year.

  • Your house is so cute and festive! I love that you have more than one tree!

    • Thanks Liz! I love our home during the holidays too!
