The Kids Behind The Blog, September 2016

The arrival of a new month means another interview with my favorite girls. This month I was super organized and we took some photos and shot our interview videos on the same day. That never happens and it is highly unlikely that it will ever happen again. Plus, I think I score some bonus points on that brick wall back drop. I need to remember this photo spot for the future.

I know I say it every single month, but I adore this link-up and I really hope you do too. It is such a fun way to document the girls just the way they are and it is my absolute favorite day to read blog posts. Your kids are so funny (yes, you) and I hope that you will keep linking up what they have to say. The sweet, the uncooperative, and the things that make you say WHAT?!

TK2Here is our September interview…

What is your favorite sport? Why?
Marissa // Basket Ball, it’s the only sport we play.
*I prompted her on running and she said she likes it a lot too.
Emily // Uh Basket Ball? I like the part where daddy picks me up so I can make points.

If someone gave you a million dollars what would you buy?
Marissa // A bunch of Legos!
Emily // The Grand Hotel (a Lego set), The Emma house (another Lego set). She would pretty much just buy Legos.

Tell me 3 things that kids do better than mommies and daddies.
Marissa // Getting in/on swing sets, swinging, and hiding.
Emily // being silly, being wilder, and being a better player.

What is your favorite thing to do in the fall?
Marissa // Jump in leaves.
Emily // I like playing with sissy and going trick or treating.

Share with me 3 things you like about yourself.
Marissa // I like that I have straight hair. I like that I don’t have glasses. *small panic with a long pause* I like my dimples!
Emily // I like my french fry shirt (her clothes). I like my Legos. I like that I have glasses.

I mean a million dollars could buy a lot of Legos!!! Ha ha! I love their answers for what they do better than mommy and daddy. πŸ™‚

    • IKR?! I mean I know Legos are kind of expensive but a million dollars would buy quite a few 😊.

  • Love all the legos! Your girls are just too cute!!

  • So fun that they are into legos! And I love that Emily loves her glasses.

    • Oh me too! It makes me so happy that she doesn’t mind them at all.

  • Ah, so it’s the LEGOS that are going for the win here? I guess you know what is on your Christmas shopping list this year!

    • They are totally and completely Lego obsessed and it is fantastic 😊.

  • chall1018

Legos for the win!! I was going to say do you know how many Legos you could buy with a million dollars? But, probably not as many as we would think because Legos are so expensive! haha. I am 100% surprised that Legos weren’t on Mason’s list. I think he said the things he did because he has been watching the show Richie Rich on Netflix. ha! Your girls are so cute! I love Marissa’s dimples and Emily’s Fry shirt is pretty rad. πŸ™‚ And I love love love that Emily loves her glasses. Makes my heart happy!

    • Oh it makes my heart SO happy too. She is completely OBSESSED with that fry shirt, asks to wear it every Friday lol. I really wish Legos weren’t so darn expensive.

  • They are such cuties!

  • Meghan Flinn

Legos really are the best aren’t they!? And I love that kids are better at getting in and out of play sets! I hope Emily didn’t hear that Marissa likes having straight hair and no glasses considering that’s the opposite of her.

    • They are the best thing ever.

I’ve thought a lot about Marissas answer. Emily went first and M heard her answers. I think Marissa was honestly juat copying because she didn’t know what else to say…I hope so at least.

  • We love Legos!! Some days I feel like we have a million dollar’s worth of them. They are everywhere! Haha.

  • Sara C

YAY for Lego sets!!! We are a Lego family too! The photos are just adorable! πŸ™‚

    • Us too! Everyone loves them so much. Thank you friend.

  • This is my favorite monthly linkup! XOXO I have to say your girls must really love Lego sets!!! They are adorable.

    • They sure do. They watch the Lego Girl Netflix cartoons ALL the time! So glad you love this linkup. I love reading your posts!

  • I love reading all the kids’ comments too!! Legos for the win! And basketball too apparently !

    • Legos all day every day. Hope your weekend is going well!

  • I love that they will be able to look back on this – fantastic digital scrapbook!

    • Oh me too! That is my favorite part of the posts that highlight them.

  • Ive been in a terrible slump about not linking up but Im committing to next month!!

    • I sure hope so. Kinsey is always so funny 😊.

  • So funny, just looking at the first picture I thought…I love that brick wall she found, and then you mentioned needing to take more pictures in front of it, yes you do! I just love these posts so much, can’t wait to go through the rest of them!

    • Its an old creamery down town and it is Amazing. It used to be a bar amd Russ and I spent a whole summer playing bocce ball amd drinking cheap beer there :). I’ll go back soon

The girls don’t like Legos at all, do they? πŸ˜‰

  • Ashley

So so sweet!! I love that E loves her glasses!! So cute

  • Oh these girls. I love them so. I love that Emily has embraced her glasses. So many littles struggle and she seems to have really taken to them.

    • YES! It is such an answer to prayer. Now if we can keep her that way until she is old enough for contacts :P.
