The Kids Behind The Blog, July 2016

The second Wednesday of the month means my favorite girls take the spotlight for our monthly ‘The Kids Behind The Blog’ interview. It also happens to be my favorite day of the month to read blog posts too. Kids say the darndest things, right?!

This months interviews seemed to be a bit less compromised than last months, but I think we could have answered every single question with some kind of swimming related answer. This interview makes how we love to spend our summer oh so obvious.

What  2 things do you like to do outside in the summer?

Marissa // Swimming and eating ice cream.
Emily // Go to the pool and play with Jonathan and David

If you could go anywhere this Summer where would you go and why?
Marissa // To Disney World. Because we’ve only been there once.
Emily // I do not know. Grandma’s house….the pool…. Silver Dollar City…. MINNIE! I’ve been wanting to see her!

What is your favorite thing about summer?
Marissa // Swimming
Emily // I like… swimming

If you could pick any way to spend a hot Summer day, how would you spend it?
Marissa // Swimming
Emily // I would just stay inside… or go to the pool.

What is your favorite Summer treat?
Marissa // Root beer floats
Emily // That’s hard. Ice Cream! Vanilla with cherries and hot fudge.

And just for fun (and to help me remember them at this age) I once again filmed the interviews.
Such silly little girls.

I’ve been wanting to see Minnie, too. 😉 I love how much your girls love to swim!

    • Wouldn’t it be the best! They are fish, fish I tell you!

  • Jessica

They don’t like swimming at all. 🙂 I think going to see Minnie is a great idea!

    • Not even a little bit :P. I do too. Now to save, save, save.

  • Swimming seems to be the popular choice for sure! Looks like Disney might be in the books within the next few years?

    • I am saving, pinching, hoping and praying. I’d love to get back there 1.5 years or so.

  • Meghan Flinn

Swimming and ice cream… That’s my favorite part of summer too! They are the cutest! And I love that Emily said stay inside like Noah did!

    • Baha ha! I think they must have been thinking about avoiding the heat. Unless we are swimming, we pretty much stay inside.

  • So cute! The first and third pictures are my favorite! XOXO

  • Zachary focused on swimming answers too!

  • Root beer floats are my fave too

    • She is obsessed with them and root beer in general right now!

  • Swimming, ice cream, repeat. Sounds like the perfect summer! Those girls are so cute!

    • It is what all of the best summers are made of. Thanks friend.

  • Desiree @ Macke Monologues

Swimming. Swimming. Swimming. Toss in some ice cream. Perfect summer!
Summers hold some of my fondest memories growing up, and seeing all the fun you and the ladies have, I’m sure the same will ring true for them too!

    • Oh I sure hope it does. I want them to look back and remember summers spent at the pool. Because lets face it. It’s too hot to do anything else!

  • I’m all for some Disney too!! Mmmm…love me a root beer float! Sean used to make those for me when I was pregnant with Wyatt!

    • Aaaahhh that is such a fun memory. Wouldn’t Disney be the best, ever?!

  • They are precious! Does Emily know that Marissa has been to Disney and she hasn’t, because I’m thinking that probably doesn’t go over very well.

    • She does and she was actually there too. However she was only 9 months old and took a lot of naps. Bummer :(. I am TRYING to penny pinch our way there in the next couple of years.

  • Your girls are too adorable. And I love that first picture! She looks like a mermaid!

    • I crack up a that first picture because of her hair! Even the water can’t take the curls out, lol. She usually isn’t that wiggly. I have no idea what her “problem” was that day. Silly little girl.

  • Swimming is great!

  • This may sound weird, but I got the BIGGEST kick out of hearing your voice! Guess I missed watching the videos last month. Maybe its time to get Snapchat after all 😉 Cute answers as always!

    • Stephanie told me that my voice didn’t match me when we talked on the phone the other day, bahaha! I have snapchat… I just don’t use it. I can’t keep up with everything and that one just takes the back burner for me. Thank you!

      • I don’t know, it seemed perfectly you to me 😀 Maybe less of an accent than I would have guessed lol. Its so hard to tell with Southern states what someone will sound like, right?!

        • Baha ha! Yeah people in Joplin don’t really have accents. Maybe down in AR and lower you’ll start to notice that more :).

  • Their cute little voices, I love it! Love that all of their answers had pool in them, so cute. And that first picture, so freakin cool!

    • Isn’t that photo the best! I love that even the water can’t take the curls out of that girls hair :P. Thanks friend.

  • So the perfect day has to involve swimming? Done. And I completely concur! Your girls are so cute!

    • Ummm… well…. I think? Haha ha! Thank you so much. They sure do love to swim :).

  • I think our kids are catching onto us. Like they know we have to have these answers.

    • It’s probably them conspiring against us. Some sort of backwards trap or something :P.

  • They’re so cute!

  • chall1018

Swimming is such a summer staple! It’s too hot in Texas to be outside without some kind of water play. Rootbeer float…mmm…that sounds delicious! We may have to make those today! Love their answers and the videos! I want to go to Disney World, too! Emily reminds me so much of Mason and how she can’t sit still. Mason is all over the place during these interviews.

    • It is the same exact way here. You just can’t go outside unless its in the water. You’ll get heat stroke. Lol, little wiggle worms. Those two would make quite the pair!
