Rewind Friday V2, Running

First off I want to say a huge thanks to those of you who linked up with us for the first ever Rewind Friday!
We were so excited to have 59 posts linked up and the post with the most clicks was THIS ONE!

May's Spotlight Post (1)_edited
Congratulations to Amanda from Klein dot Co on being this May’s spotlight post!

I thought long and hard about what theme I wanted to choose for this months rewind. I decided that highlighting posts topically would be best for me, because it just seems like the most organized way to go about things. Hello Type A personality. From home school, tutorials, recipes, faith, and parenting I feel like I have several topics I could cover. However this month I chose something else near and dear to my heart…

Rewind Running

Today’s rewind is dedicated to my five favorite running posts and since I have been blogging almost as long as I have been running there were LOTS to choose from.

Rewind 1

It’s the little things/ Crossing borders

My first ever double digit run AND the first time we ran to another state.

Rewind 2

Strong & Beautiful, Where Exercise & Faith Collide

I re-read this post and loved it just as much as when I originally wrote it.
The journey we are on is NEVER just about us.

Rewind 3

Race Recap/ Starry Night 10K

The first of 3 VERY hot and humid race. I hated these races but it is fun to look back on them now.

Rewind 4

Amazing GRace 2016

Marissa’s very first 5K and definitely not her last!

Rewind 5

Thirteen Point Freaking One!

My very first half marathon. I’ll never forget that race.

Are you feeling inspired, motivated, and encouraged yet?

Yeah, me neither. It’s just too hot outside right now.
But until then I do, I’ll keep running on the dread-mill and dreaming of cooler days to come. They’ll be here before we know it.

Girl you are awesome. I wish I liked to run, but I really don’t. If I’m running it’s because I’m chasing after a child or being chased. So I find you inspiring for your love of running.

    • I think if I always had to run by myself it wouldn’t be nearly as much fun. But Anna, the girl in pretty much every single running post I shared, keeps me going.

  • Always looking back is so much fun. This should always be your motivation when you don’t feel like running. Thanks for the opportunity to link a post dear to my heart…in remembrance of my dad, who’s birthday is today. Felt it was appropriate!

    • So sweet Michelle, I need to check that out.

I do need some motivation… especially this time of the year.

  • Love looking back! I totally failed to put this on my calendar but motivation to pull something together later today. That is the pure beauty of this linkup!!!!

    • It is so much fun to look back. Often looking back at my early posts leaves me cringing over TERRIBLE photos though :P.

  • Cat @

Oh, I love seeing older posts from bloggers I like. It’s always interesting to read things they posted before I started reading. Thanks for doing this!

    • It is so much fun, right! You are welcome!

  • I need to run again. Thanks for the cool reminder! This is a fun link up!

  • I can’t believe it’s time for another one! I’m going to have to find a post to link up!
I wish you lived closer because my running partner went back to work and I just haven’t gone in a few weeks!

    • And its summer, bleck. I never thought I would prefer running in the winter more than summer but I’ll take upper 30’s and 40’s any day over 90+ degrees with 95% humidity. That would be so much fun!

  • I think I’ll copy you and link up that time when I did a half marathon!

  • I want to be a runner more than anything! Well, I’d also like to be an Olympian ice skater, but running is probably a tad bit more realistic! I just can’t get motivated. I’m going to read these posts right now…and the yogurt parfait post, because somehow I missed that one, too. Yum! We’ll be traveling through Joplin tomorrow, I’ll wave at any runners I see incase it’s you! Have a great weekend! ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • LOLOLOL! And I totally just saw this now so that means I missed you. I hope you had a great drive and made it to Branson safely. it is kind of fun and kind of sad knowing you are SO close. P.S. I hope the humidity is being nice to you. It is actually a bit cooler than it was last week!

  • I feel like it must have been hard to pick your top 5 running posts since you have so many good ones, but you picked some good ones! Excited to go back and re-read a few!

    • It was SO hard. So very, very, very hard. I guess I should run less :P.

  • And to think…you weren’t always such a fun of working out and running. You should be so proud of yourself.

    • I am so proud of myself. Not many people can say they are in the best shape of their life in their 30’s. I just hope I can keep this going til I’m in my 40’s… eeekkkkk!!!

  • Hannah Christensen

Wow, I’m impressed with people who run half marathons! You go girl ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m joining the link up for the first time this week!

    • Thank you! So glad to have you join us Hannah!

  • I went for a run for the first time in a long time yesterday and it felt really good.

    • That is awesome. I don’t think I could say that right now. So… flipping…. humid!!!

  • Meghan Flinn

I am so in awe of you and your dedication to running!

    • If only I was feeling a little more dedicated lately…. this summer heat has really got me down. Thanks friend.

  • I am so behind on blog reading, please forgive me friend. I absolutely loved post #2, talk about inspiring. And I love how you have to have themes, woman after my own heart ๐Ÿ˜€

    • I feel like I live behind so I hear you. And if I even get the slightest behind I end up drowning. If I didn’t pick a theme I would never be able to pick 5 posts and would likely just end up sharing the same ones over and over again :P.

  • I always live vicariously through your running posts. You’re a great inspiration!!

    Katie @ Cup of Tea

    • That is how I feel about peoples fashion/ beauty posts :). Nobody can do it all I suppose. Thank you so much Katie.

  • I love this! And all of your running posts, and I feel the same way, 13 point freakin 1!

    • Thanks friend. Freakin just seems necessary when talking about that many miles.
