My Top 10 Favorite Photos of 2017

2017 is just a few short weeks away from being over, WOW!

Parts of me feels like the past year went by faster than ever, others feel like SO much happened and things moved slow. But I’m not here to recap the past year, yet.

Today I wanted to link up with Erin from Perfectly Port to share my 10 favorite photos of 2017! (I had hoped to share a house post today, but I decided if I waited just a few more days there would be a lot more to share.)

At first the idea  of sharing my top 10 photos sounded like a super fun and super easy post idea… then I quickly realized just how hard it was going to be to only pick 10. I opted to narrow things down a bit and chose 10 photos from my Instagram account.

In no particular order, here we go!Read More

Back To School Memories

This is a sponsored post in partnership with Picture Keeper and BraVoMark. All opinions are mine.

Two weeks from today we head back to school… which leaves me feeling #alloftheemotions . We’re starting our 5th year of home school, WOW doesn’t seem to summarize exactly how shocked I feel over that, and I will be taking our 6th year of back to school photos.

The past 6 years of photos hold some very precious memories. Memories that have all taken place at this house, the home where so many of their childhood firsts happened. As we get ready to head back to school one last time in this house, I may be a teensy bit more sentimental than usual.

InstaLife Lately, January 2017

When I shared my goals for 2017 I told you I was focusing all blog related group towards one platform this year, Instagram. Since I am investing so much time and growth in that direction I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite photos on the blog too. Because you never know what people are seeing or aren’t seeing on IG now days. So if you’ve seen them all, my deepest apologies. I hope you like them even more this second time around.

Spring Photos {2016}

One of the things on our spring bucket list was Spring photos. I never had intentions of hiring to have actual family photos taken, however I did want to do something more than the random snapshots that I constantly take of the girls. So I picked a morning, woke them up early, and had us out the door and picture ready by 7:00 a.m. Thank God my girls are morning people. We drove about 3 miles away to a little church I spied earlier last week and spent about 10 minutes taking photos. It was cool, the grass was soaked and my girls were troopers. The photos may not have turned out as good as they could have, but I am pretty pleased with the end results and today I decided to share them with you.

I love how great these turned out for the little time I spent on them. I also love how they pose themselves. It has definitely made picture taking easier, even having to work around E’s glasses.

Such great memories of these sweet sisters together.

I need to be more intentional to take frame-worthy shots more often and who know, maybe I can even attempt some family photos some day.

Happy Monday friends!

Picture Perfect Project V4: March 2016

I am officially 1/4 of the way finished with my 2016 Picture Perfect Project. The brilliant idea to take one photo a week came to me in December 2014 and I some how took photos all year, but ended up with a bit of a mess at the end. This year I told myself I would try to be more consistent and organized.

How am I doing?

Much better! I am keeping my photos neatly arranged, water-marked, labeled and taken in the same location…. which has kind of been the issue. On a nice sunny day the photos turn out well. But if it is cloudy and rainy at all the lighting completely changes and things don’t look so great (see week 13). I’m not sure what to do about that other than invest in a bunch of equipment. Anyone have any pointers on this one?

We left off on week 9, so let’s take a look at weeks 10-13!

Week 10

Apparently this was the week for stripes. Emily work sandles even though it was a little to cold too. She is oh so anxious for warmer weather. Me too sister, me too.

Week10 HE Week10 VE
Week 11

Oh look a Minnie shirt, you never see that around here #sarcasm. Marissa’s leggings are my favorite. I secretly wish I had some in my size.

Week11 HE Week11 VE
Week 12

Emily and her squinty smiles. She has two smiles, squinty and creepy. I MUCH prefer the squinty. Those girls LOVE their cowboy boots too. I guess I’ll plan now to buy some more next fall.

Week12 HE (2) Week12 HE
Week 13

The one week I wanted really good photos, Easter, it was gloomy and rainy and one of my better photos is blurry. BUMMER!

Week13 HE Week13 VE
So we have 13 photos down and 39 more to go!

Hour By Hour {July 2015}

Hello Thursday!

It’s Thursday and typically that means I have a guest for my ‘Girl Mom’ Series but today we are taking a break and doing a fun photo post.

A few weeks ago my friend Whitney from Work It Mommy participated in a link up where you take one photo an hour and share them in a post. I loved looking through her photos so much that I thought I would share my own today.

Here is a look at our day through the lens of a camera.

8:00 a.m.
Time for my eggs, oatmeal, iced coffee and some blog work.

9:00 a.m.

3:00 p.m.
Mandatory pool break so we cool off at the splash pad.

4:00 p.m.

Time to pick this guy up from work

5:00 p.m.

I go out to check on Russ and tell him dinner will be ready soon.

6:00 p.m.

Dinner is done, the dishes are mostly washed and I sit down to check some math work and hang out with the worlds slowest eater.

7:00 p.m.

Snuggles and T.V. time with the girls

8:00 p.m.

Brushing teeth then off to bed.

9:00 p.m.

Milk, a couple cookies, Colorfy (Which I may have downloaded for Marissa then got sucked into playing) and Friends.

Now it is off to bed so I can wake up and do it all over again tomorrow.

Happy almost Friday!
