The Kids Behind The Blog, The Final Link-Up

For the past 18 months I have been sharing monthly interviews with my girls in a series called ‘The Kids Girls Behind The Blog. I have loved doing these posts and sharing more about my ladies with my readers. However, today will be the final link-up of this series.

Some of you may be wondering why, so I wanted to be real and give you an honest answer. It really isn’t one reason, it’s several different thing. The biggest of which is a desire, of the hosts, to have one less thing to be committed to. So in an effort to cut some stuff out and scale back, some things just have to go.

This has always been a very small link-up and I have so much appreciation for bloggers like Sarah, Dara and Stefanie who have consistently joined us for the long haul. Thank you ladies.

Even though the link-up will be over, don’t be surprised one bit if I still post the occasional interview with my girls and continue this series in a more sporadic & laid back way.

The Kids Behind The Blog, August 2017

Today is another edition of one of my favorite monthly linkups, The Kids (or in my case, girls) Behind the Blog. Every month I giggle, nod, gasp, and lol my way through these posts. I love the sweet innocence of complete and brutal honesty that the kiddos so willingly dish out.

This months questions don’t really have a theme and are a bit deeper than some of the questions we’ve done in the past. I was pretty excited to interview the girls this month and get their thoughts since most of the time the answers come to them so easily.

If you could change one of your family’s rules what would you change?

Marissa // I don’t know… (struggles for a long time) That we could go to bed later!!!
Emily // That we could eat cake all of the time!
Mom thoughts // I am not surprised that Marissa struggled with this one, after all she is the typical “first-born rule follower”.

The Kids Behind The Blog, July 2017

It’s time for another interview with my favorite girls!

On the second Wednesday of every month I share all about the kids, or shall I say girls, behind the blog. We’ve been doing these posts for well over a year now and it easily turned into one of my favorite ways to document them. This months questions are more summer related ones, about important stuff like treats, travels, & more.

What do you need to make s’mores?

Marissa// Chocolate, graham crackers, and REALLY big marshmallows.
Emily// Graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate.
Mom thoughts// Seems like I have taught them to be very traditional.

The Kids Behind The Blog, May 2017

Today is another edition of one of my favorite monthly linkups, The Kids (or in my case, girls) Behind the Blog. Every month I giggle, nod, gasp, and lol my way through these posts. I love the sweet innocence of complete and brutal honesty that the kiddos so willingly dish out.

This month questions did not disappoint. But, when you ask a 6-year-old what their favorite childhood memory is you are bound to get a confused look and a silly answer.

Just Dance The Winter Blues Away!

If there is one thing that I have noticed around here it is how quickly we develop a case of the winter blues. Winter arrives quickly and without much notice in Missouri. Before we know it, we go from hours of play outside each day to being cooped up for days on end.
So like most moms, I usually spend the winter searching and brainstorming ideas to keep the kids busy. Games, TV, books and puzzles are all options that we frequent but they don’t offer a solution to one major problem...
Those girls have A LOT of energy to burn.
Stuck inside, full of energy, feeling blue, There has to be a solution, right?!
What if you could Just Dance those winter blues away?
Recently we were invited to try out Just Dance: Disney Party 2, Just Dance is bringing fun to every Disney Channel fan and their family this holiday season with their second title in the best-selling music video game franchise of all time. With the cold weather coming I knew it was going to be the perfect solution to our boring winter days. Dancing is the best medicine after all! I might add that if you watch me dance you are bound to laugh, it all works hand in hand perfectly.

The day I gave the game to Marissa she couldn’t have possibly been more thrilled.

The moment we turned on the game I saw her get a bit nervous, little Miss can be pretty shy, but after her first dance she was hooked and dancing like no one was watching.
I love that about kids, no holding back.
Just Dance: Disney Party 2 features more than 20 tracks from the hottest Disney Channel hits.
It didn’t take long and she had already made her own list of favorites:

Descendants, Be Our Guest
Liv And Maddie,What A Girl Is
And
Teen Beach 2 Right Where I Wanna Be
She will dance, dance, dance as long as I let her or until she wears herself out.
Both are just fine with me.
We can’t wait to try out the game the next time we have friends over to play.
I know we have hours of dancing and playing with this game ahead.

Just Dance: Disney Party 2 is now available on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Nintendo’s Wii and Wii U systems. It is the perfect addition to any kids Christmas wish list and a great way to keep moving through the new year.
