One thing I’d like to do more of in 2018 is share our day-to-day life. The normal, not always very exciting, day in and day out. One of my favorite ways to do this is by sharing photos. While thinking out blog posts the planner in me put two and two together and penciled in a ‘Daily Dime’ post for every month in 2018.
The idea is simple: pick a day, take 10 photos, share them in a post. Easy enough right? Not always. Through trial and error I have learned that I really need to choose the day I document wisely. Because, nobody wants to see 10 photos of me watching Netflix in my pj’s. Not that I ever do that…
This months photos were taken on Sunday January 14th, 2018.

Dressed and ready for church I went out to start my car. I needed to be there early for worship team practice and by the time I got back inside, I learned that we might end up cancelling.
When Erin from Perfectly Port announced that she would be hosting a 10 on the 10th link up in 2018, I didn’t hesitate to pencil the dates into my planner. It’s post like these that are a fun change to the blogging monotony and always fun to read.
Erin is kicking off this years prompts by asking us to share 10 random things about ourselves. After nearly 4 years of blogging I don’t feel like I have too many secrets left. But maybe, if you read this post, you’ll learn a thing or two you didn’t know already.
1~ Career ambitions through the years have been really random. As a child I always wanted to be a model. I think this came from people always making remarks and fuss over how tall I was. Then as I grew older I wanted to be an elementary school music teacher. Now days I think if I was to go back to school & pursue a career, it would have something to do with graphic design.
2~ Motherhood made me thinner. I’m not sure if it is the constant being on the move or the girls eating half of my food. But over the years, I have dropped 4-6 pant sizes.

Did you know that TODAY is Winter Skin Relief Day?! Every year, on January 8th, winter skin is celebrated… or maybe the relief options are what really deserve to be celebrated.
Winter time is notorious for drying out your skin and leaving you in misery. Between the cold, wind and dry air outside and the heat inside trying to keep up, so many people find themselves in a less than pleasant state during these long winter months.
Winter skin is something that has plagued our household for years. Russ fights dry, cracked hands, I battle scaly, itchy legs and Emily gets her face chapped so badly it turns bright red. We know first hand that winter skin dilemmas can be frustrating and painful.
But it doesn’t have to be that way! Today I am sharing my top 5 tips to help keep your skin happy during the cold winter months.
I am super excited to once again be linking up for TBB Asks. These question were the perfect, easy way to kick off the weekend, moving weekend at that.
Take a look at my answers and feel free to grab the graphic and play with The Blended Blog ladies. The linkup goes live first thing Monday morning.
1. Resolutions or No Resolutions?
No New Year resolutions. If you know me well, you know that I love goals. In fact I have been sharing my goal posts on the blog since January of 2015! However, I am a firm believer that if you want to do something, just do it. Each month is a new opportunity. Don’t ever think you blew it and give up for the rest of the year.
2. Love snow or No Snow?
If it is going to be FREEZING cold, it might as well snow. But no ice, please! We once lost power for over a week due to an ice storm.
3. Name a New Place you want to go this year?
Uuuuhhhhh?!?! I have no clue. I want to live in my new house! Does that count?!
Yesterday, I shared my first goal post for 2018 and filled you in on the in and outs of this week. Today, I thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our life currently. So I’m linking up, with Anne In Residence, to share about what I am currently starting, hoping, scheduling, reading & playing.
School, again. After several days off of school for winter break, yesterday we went back to the books. Going back was hard, but thankfully I planned ahead and scheduled an “easy” first week back. Originally I did this knowing how hard it is to go back after the holiday, but it ended up being moving week for us too. I am SO thankful things worked out this way.
Let’s take a look at what I completed…
* Blog less. I have decided that until life gets a little less hectic, I will only be blogging two days a week most weeks and simplifying posts when I can.
* All other blog related goals are on hold for now.
* Create a Christmas bucket list and mark things off as we go.
* Have at least 2 designated family nights.
* Give back to others.
* Wrap up our first semester and reevaluate lesson plans for semester 2.
* Enjoy Christmas break the best we can.
* Begin packing and moving out!
* Continue the construction progress.
* Start thinking about goals for 2018.
* Have a girls night with Anna and Sam.
* Have a date night.
And what I didn’t …Read More
