As of today we are 25% of the way done with our school year. WOW! The first quarter has really flown by. We have always started back to school a bit on the early side, but this past year it was done with more intention than ever before. After all, I would be foolish to think that building a home won’t require us to adjust our expectations and calendar a bit.
Today I am breaking away a bit from the typical Friday Five and sharing a bit about what is going on currently. I’ve recently realized that just because I post on a Friday, it doesn’t mean I have to share a “Friday Five” style post. I know it sounds like a “duh” thing to say, but sometimes I get so wrapped up in what the majority is doing, or what I have always done, that I forget that I don’t have to do the same thing.
Fall outfits and photos.
The weather has been in a constant limbo and ultimately we’ve only had about 4 fall like days. Other than that, it still feels like summer. But that hasn’t stopped me from switching things around in my closet around and dreaming up some fun fall outfits. I’m also starting to think about photo outfits for this year too. I need to look at what we wore last year and make sure I go a different direction.
I’ve also been taking some styled recipe photos, which reminded me that I really enjoy taking photos of food #nerdalert. I have several props and a collection of place-mats and such… most of which are packed away #fail. But I am making what I have on hand work and wondering why I don’t share recipes more often.
Hello Friday, Hello October!
Another week is over and with it comes the end of another month. The last quarter of the year is starting and October 1st always feels like the end has just begun. We’ll blink 3 times and 2018 will arrive. It happens every single year and I can’t believe we are too this point again already. So long 2017! Anyone else feeling this way?
Let’s take a look at this weeks Friday Favorites.
Another week of school is over and we are now only one week away from the official start of fall! Although, I wish my weather would get a clue. We had like 3 days of fall weather before things warmed back up. Now it feels like the cooler weather will never get here. It’s the same exact story every single September. Anyone else?
The past week was full of exciting events. Including a 15K run, buying a tractor, a very busy schedule & more. And starting next weekend, we will be busy, busy, busy as we start cleaning up the mess from clearing a house site on the land… a job that is too overwhelming to think about. So this weekend we are going to unwind a bit and enjoy ourselves before we get all wrapped up in work mode, for heaven knows how long 🙄 😆 .
Don’t forget that next week is the second edition of our 5 Things Friday, What’s bringing me joy link-up. How it works is simple: pick five things that are bringing joy to your life, write a post, and link up with us on the fourth Friday of ever month, NEXT WEEK!!!
We have TWO guest hosts to joining us and can’t wait to hear about what is currently making you smile!
Hello Friday, Hello long weekend!
It has been one crazy week friends. School assignments stacking up, to-do’s a mile long, and all of life really kicking in has made this mama exhausted. As a result, I haven’t exactly been the most patient person. I may or may not have put myself into mommy time out & apologized to my girls on more than one occasion. So needless to say, I am REALLY looking forward to the weekend.
Anyone else having one of those weeks too?
Let’s take a look at this weeks Friday picks!
Well, it’s here… our last weekend before we start school Monday morning. Goodness, summer went by fast. Typically we spend our last weekend before school starts back celebrating with pool time, pizza, ice cream, you name it! We call it Back to School Eve. It started out as a one night celebration and has slowly evolved into a whole entire weekend. But this weekend it’s supposed to be unseasonably cold and will likely rain all weekend long *sigh*. I guess we’ll have to be a little more creative with our celebration this year.
Let’s take a look at this weeks Friday Favorites!
This week has been pretty amazing! Productive mornings have made for plenty of time to play in the afternoons (at the pool of course!) But our summer days are numbered friends. There are now only 10 days until we head back to school. We are planning to start our first week with half days to help ease the transition, but school is school!
However, as much as I hate to say it, I think we are ready. Summer has and will continue to be great, but we’ve been done with school for nearly 3 months now. It’s time to head back.
