It’s absolutely no secret around here that I have a slight mug obsession. It’s funny really. At one point I remember not having any coffee mugs to call my own. They were all Russ’ or just random, meaningless ones. Now it seems that over half of the coffee mugs in our ever-growing collection are mine.

Why? There is just something about drinking my coffee from the perfect mug to match my mood that makes me smile. I mean let’s be honest, the contents of the cup already do that. But walking around my house or sitting on my porch and holding the perfect mug adds a little something to my day.

Today I want to share with you a collection that I call “Mugs for Mom”. Realistically this collection is picked out with me in mind. But I think pretty much any mom could find a coffee mug or two that they love from this round-up.

Holiday Ornament Exchange

Hello my name is Beth and I have a Christmas tree problem.

It started out slowly, innocently. We had just moved into our new house. From the moment I knew we would have tall ceilings, I envisioned a BIG tree. So we bought a gorgeous 9 footer and to this day I still look at it and smile.  The following year I convinced Russ that the play room (now school room) would make the perfect place for smaller tree just for the girls. But what should I do with the old tree we still had up in our attic from years earlier?! Put it in our bedroom of course! What started out as 3 trees, which was already a lot for some most people, has now morphed into 6. I think they are multiplying in my attic. If I am being completely honest, sometimes I sneak a tree up there mid July. How many more do you think I can add before Russ notices? I’m guessing zero.

My love for trees translates to my love for Christmas decorations and ultimately my love for Christmas.

Mug Exchange Reveal + A Starbucks Giveaway

It’s reveal day!

Mug Love Exchange

About a month ago the ‘Mug Love Exchange’ was announced. When I found out I was matched up with Stephanie from Wife Mommy MeI was convinced I had won the partner lottery. I could write a whole blog post about Stephanie and what her friendship means to me. Or, I could sum it all up with a graphic.

octopus

I am abundantly thankful for the “octopus friends” that God has placed in my life.

Right about now you may be thinking “What in the world does any of this have to do with a mug exchange? I’m getting there, I promise.

mub-box

My package arrived on a Monday. It couldn’t have come on a better day. Mondays always mean I could use any extra cheer that comes my way. Monday and I don’t have the greatest relationship. I snapped a photo, ran into the house and ripped into my boxes like a kid on Christmas morning.

And then I saw it…

Part of me wanted to cry over the thoughtfulness, but I just started laughing. A little graphic that I had once text my “octopus friends” has never been forgotten. Exchanges of octopus emojis are frequent and then Stephanie took it to a whole new level with this gift. To some it may look like a somewhat unusual coffee mug. But to me it a symbol of friendship. How can I not look at this mug smile and thank God for the friendships He has given me?

She didn’t stop there either. Pumpkin spice goodies and some other things came too. Because she know’s I’m #basic-ally obsessed with pumpkin spice and all things fall. FYI I totally stole that hashtag from her note card.

If you want to see what I sent to Stephanie, head on over to her space to check it out. Just be warned I wasn’t nearly as creative and thoughtful with my mug selection. You can also check out the other mug exchange posts in the links below.

For The Love Of Mugs {Exchange Announcement}

There are two ways I like my coffee, with loads of creamer and in one of my favorite mugs. That simple yet magical combination is what makes me smile when I pour my morning cup of coffee. But it hasn’t always been this way. In the past Russell had his mugs and I had nothing. I used the plain and boring mugs that came with our dishes.

Then things changed.

I picked up one mug, and another, then another. Before long my collection had grown.
Today I am sharing a few of my favorite mugs with you and details on how you can add another mug to your collection!

The first mug I purchased was this one. It is itty bitty but if I am in a hurry it holds the perfect amount of coffee. I bought it on my first IKEA trip with Anna, and she bought the same one in plum.

I received this mug in an exchange I did last Christmas. I use this mug on those days that I just don’t feel like I’ll make it. AKA Mondays.

This mug was a present from a secret admirer who left it on my porch after I posted a photo of it on social media. I still feel loved every time I use it. Thank you secret admirer :).

I bought this gem from the Dollar Tree, just because it made me laugh. Yup, still makes me laugh.

And my precious favorite. I use this mug all day, every day from mid September through mid November. It was the last one in stock at Wal-Mart last year and if they happened to get them again this year I’d buy another just so I don’t have to wash mine all the time. I also like the idea of having a back up just in case something unspeakable was to happen.

I do realize that missing from my collection is a Christmas mug. I really need a good Christmas mug to make Christmas coffee seem more festive and July days seem more cheerful #ohyesIwould.

Onto that announcement…

Recently my friend Stephanie from Wife Mommy Me asked if I wanted to co-host a mug exchange. I didn’t have to think long before answering with a yes.
