14 Days of Summer, A Photo Challenge

One of my favorite ways to document our life and the fun we have is with photos. Over the years I’ve learned that I either do a really great job with this, or a really bad one. When it comes to me and photography, there is just no in between.  I take #allthephotos or none.

Recently I started sharing Instagram stories. (Why did it take me so long to get on the IG story bus?!) (Are you following me on Instagram, if not come fix that, m’kay) (How long could I talk in parentheses before it got weird?) (What was I talking about anyways…) However, since I started sharing Instagram stories, my Instagram photos have become nearly non-existent 😳 . So in hopes of capturing a few frame worthy summer memories, and getting back on track with sharing those photos, how about a mini photo challenge?!

Spring Fling, A Springtime Photo Challenge

Springtime has officially began!

The trees are budding, the sun is shining and those warm rain showers have finally made their way to Southwest Missouri. Although parts of me find it hard to believe, I think winter really is officially over.

With all things spring on the brain it is the perfect time to try my luck on hosting (and completing 😛 ) another photo challenge. Once again I am teaming up with Stephanie from Wife Mommy Me to bring you a ‘Spring Fling’ photo challenge. We tried to choose prompts that wouldn’t stink. You’ve all seen those challenges right?! We put our heads together and feel like we came up with a really great list.

14 Days of Love, A Photo Challenge Recap

First off I want to say a huge thank you to those of you who participated in this photo challenge. Whether it was all 14 days, some of them, or encouraging others to join, I really appreciate all of you and your support. I am also thrilled to say we had 739 photos use our hashtag as of the morning of February 15th! Not to bad for a photo challenge that was announced only 36 hours before it started. With one successful challenge under my belt, I really hope to host more photo challenges in 2017.

Since planning and executing photo prompts requires a lot of planning, creativity and work I thought it would be fun to recap and share my photos with you today. You may have already seen them over on Instagram, but you very likely may have missed some of them too.

14 Days Of Love, A February Photo Challenge

It’s the month of love!

Not only does today kick off the month of February, it also kicks off my very first Instagram photo challenge!

I am so excited y’all. I have toyed and toyed with the idea of hosting a challenge but have never taken the plunge. My biggest reason to not go for it has been a fear of failure. I mean, I have only completed 2 photo challenges in like 3 years since mom brain generally gets the best of me. It seems pretty obvious that I am totally unqualified to pull this off.

Or am I…

Picture Perfect Project V10: September 2016

Nearly two years ago I started snapping weekly photos of my girls. Typically these photos are always taken on Sunday morning because hello, we’re homeschoolers. Some stereotypes like doing school in your pjs are just true. Others like my kids are socially deprived and awkward, not so true…for the most part ;).

This post marks month number 21 and goodness I have learned SO many lessons along the way. Like: edit your photos, some weeks your photos just aren’t going to be picture perfect (keep trying), and organizing photos into folders is always worth the time it takes. I repeat organizing your photos is ALWAYS worth the mere seconds it takes.

Today we are taking a look at weeks 36-39

September 2016

Week 36

Emily is wearing Minnie mouse (you’re surprised aren’t you, HA) Marissa chose to wear her plaid dress. I love that dress and I hate it too. It is one of those items that I probably wouldn’t have purchased if I really thought through the ironing it would need in the store. We all have those items, right?

Week 37

Aaaahhh, vacation week. I snapped these photos of the girls the day we were at the fort and thought they’d work as good as any. And look, Minnie Mouse again. Never has a little girl been so obsessed.

Week 38

This was a very, very sad day. Day #1 back home post vacation. Do to our late arrival the night before, we decided to be lazy and hang out at home for the day. We pretty much did nothing except mope. It was pathetic. Also, I spy Minnie Mouse. This kid, I swear she owns other clothing.

Week 39

Our first week back at church was ‘The Great Day of Prayer’. We all wore matching t-shirts and participated in prayer walks through the streets of our city. Afterwards we wrapped things up with a service project followed by pizza with our small group. This day was LONG but full of so much togetherness. I loved it.

Here is a Flash back to September 2015…

Sometimes it feels like they are finally starting to slow down a bit then I realize I am completely wrong. I simply can not imagine how much more they will mature with another year.

Now it’s your turn to link up what you have been taking photos of one last time. Yup, that’s right this link-up has officially came to an end. It has been so much fun taking pictures with you for the past several months, but we felt it was time to call things a wrap. To those of you who have faithfully linked up we want to say a HUGE thank you. You were what kept this going for so long.

Happy picture taking!
