My Monthly Goals, December 2017

Let’s take a look at what I completed…

* Share some holiday related posts.

* Plan out a short blog sabbatical over the holiday season/ when we move.
* Have at least 2 designated family nights.
* Complete my final 16 mile training run.

* Run a marathon
* Log my necessary 12 gym visits, getting as many as I can before the marathon.
* Give myself lots of grace while I recover.
* Get ahead as much as we can so we can relax over Thanksgiving Break.

* Continue working on brush piles mountains out at the land.
FINALLY start construction.
* Order Christmas Cards.
* Nail down a move out date.
* Decorate for Christmas, the best I can.
* Make a new soup recipe.
* Plan some holiday fun.

And what I didn’t …

* Finish our fall fun list by Thanksgiving
* Continue using the First 5 app.
* Plan a girls night with the ladies from church.
* Look for opportunities to show love to others.

A few thoughts I have about last months goals.

November did not go how I thought it would. Between being sick, running a marathon and recovering from said marathon, that took up literally half of the month. I did NOT anticipate that happening. So many things that I wanted to do just did not get done. But that is just how life goes sometimes. We just have to roll with it the best we can!

Plans for December…

December, oh December.

December is going to be a crazy month friends. On top of the hustle and bustle of the holiday season we also have a home build going on and a move at the end of the month. I feel almost certain the upcoming move will bite me in the bottom if I’m not careful. We are going to have to be really mindful to not let our favorite parts of the holiday season slip away from us because we are distracted by life.

Blog-
* Blog less. I have decided that until life gets a little less hectic, I will only be blogging two days a week most weeks and simplifying posts when I can.

* All other blog related goals are on hold for now.

Family-
* Create a Christmas bucket list and mark things off as we go.
* Have at least 2 designated family nights.

Fitness-
* Pick a new goal.
* Refocus on strength training instead of endurance.
* Run 5 miles twice.

Spiritual-
* Daily advent devotions.
* Give back to others.

Home School-
* Wrap up our first semester and reevaluate lesson plans for semester 2.
* Enjoy Christmas break the best we can.

Random-
* Begin packing and moving out!
* Continue the construction progress.
* Start thinking about goals for 2018.
* Have a girls night with Anna and Sam.
* Have a date night.

What is a goal you have for December?

A #goal without a plan is just a wish. This months goals post is on the blog. #otb #goalcrusher Click To Tweet

    With all that you had going on in November, you still rocked your goals!!
    You truly are a ROCKSTAR!! I can’t wait to see an update on the house!

    • I am really hoping to have another one up next week! We’ll cross our fingers there is enough progress to merit an update.

  • Moving is sooo tough! I did it right after a the holiday season a few years back but you’ve got this, girlie! And we will be here when you return to this awesome space of yours!xoxox

    • Thank you so much friend. I just feel like life is so up in the air right now. Taking it one day at a time is the only way to stay sane.

  • Lizzie Simantz

    So much fun! I hope to squeeze in a date night too, we want to see Daddy’s Home 2 so bad! When does your christmas break start?

    • I have heard so many people talking about that movie. We never even saw the first one #fail. Honestly, I don’t even know, lololol. I need to look into that.

  • You will rock those goals just as you did November.

    • I certainly hope so. I tried to be more realistic this month than usual.

  • It looks like you did a good job on November goals!

    • Thanks Dara. They certainly weren’t a flop.

  • Erin Wetherbee

    These are great goals and I am trying to scale back in the blogging department with all those extras we do…it can get so overwhelming and on top of all the other things we have going this time of year 🙂 Can’t wait to see your new home!!! So proud of you and running that marathon!!! xoxo ERIN

    • Oh Erin! You have quickly became a bright spot in the blogging world for me. YES! It totally agree with that. Life has been chaotic lately and it is crazy to think that I can keep it all up.

  • I’m all about simplifying blogging lately. I hope the move goes well!

    • Fist bump friend. Thank you so much. I am hopeful too.

  • Love the simplifying goal…I’m all over that!

    • It’s the only way I am going to keep my sanity.

  • You nailed your November goals. Getting sick has got to really put a damper on your desire to want to get things accomplished.

    • And yet here I am again. UGH!! I really need to start packing friend. This sickness stuff has got to go.

  • Yay for running a marathon! Congrats, so awesome! Yes to giving yourself grace with all that you have going on. So you’re going to move into a temp home until your home is finished being built? Hope you have a great week!

    • Never thought I would cross that one off. We are going to move in with the in laws until our house is live-able. as soon as we have the basic necessities, we’ll move in. It is going to be crazy over the next few months friend.

  • Living on Cloud Nine

    This month is already kicking my butt with this move. Going home from work to pack yet again. Not enjoying the Holidays as I would like but so abundantly grateful for everything I have. Embrace December the best you can and savor the moment. Love you girl.

    • Oh friend I totally feel you. I REALLY need to start packing and here I am, sick again I am SO angry that I caught another cold. I’m trying to embrace the season, but I feel like I am flailing and failing.

  • Way to go for running that marathon. I loved following along with you through your training. You did so good in November. I love that you are simplifiying things, embracing the crazy, all while still enjoying the month. Happy December!

    • Thank you so much friend. I still can’t believe that actually happened. December is bound to be crazy, but I’ll get something done!

  • shootingstarsmag

    Sorry November didn’t quite go as planned but it really does look like you crossed a ton off your goals list, so yay! I hope December goes well for you. I know it’s a stressful time for most of us, but I really do want to focus on enjoying as much of the seasonal activities/events as I can since there are so many fun things to do this time of the year!

    • YES!!! Adding in a move really feels like it complicated things even more than they already were, but I am set on soaking in the season too.

  • Good for you on making goals that work for you and make you happy! Keep up the good work sister, and good luck on getting that house built!

    • Thank you so much Jen! I am really trying to find some kind of happy healthy balance over here… which is easier said than done.

  • Whitney Jordan

    High five to you for making goals during this busy season of life!! I’ve done both… start packing early and prepare well in advance and power pack for like 2 days. Both work just fine, but the power packing is stressful. Thinking of you and hope you get to squeeze in some Christmas fun while being a responsible adult getting ready to move 🙂

    • SO glad to hear that all in all both work out. I honestly have no clue which is going to happen over here. I honestly feel with all of the purging we did, I can’t pack too much in advance. I just hope it doesn’t get TOO crazy at the end. At least our move is just across town I suppose! Thanks for the happy thoughts!

  • I think you did an amazing job with your goals, considering how busy this time of year is! And I hear you on the sickness. I don’t think it’s going to leave my house!

    • Thank you so much! It has been busy for sure. I am hoping and praying it leaves soon friend. I know you are feeling done like I am.

  • Man, you busted out those goals like whoa! You have so much on your plate right now! I hope y’all have an amazing Christmas time. You earned it!

    • SO stinking much. I have been running around like a crazy lady today. I STILL need to pack and Emily started running a low fever. UGH!!!

  • For all that you had going on in November you did pretty damn good with those goals, friend! And you can totally roll those you didn’t’ complete over to December or even January! Ha! Merry December, friend!

    • Baha ha! Thank you so much friend. I can’t even believe this year is almost over!!!
