Friday Favorites 9.15.17

Hello Friday!

Another week of school is over and we are now only one week away from the official start of fall! Although, I wish my weather would get a clue. We had like 3 days of fall weather before things warmed back up. Now it feels like the cooler weather will never get here. It’s the same exact story every single September. Anyone else?

The past week was full of exciting events. Including a 15K run, buying a tractor, a very busy schedule & more. And starting next weekend, we will be busy, busy, busy as we start cleaning up the mess from clearing a house site on the land… a job that is too overwhelming to think about. So this weekend we are going to unwind a bit and enjoy ourselves before we get all wrapped up in work mode, for heaven knows how long  🙄  😆 .

JOY!

Don’t forget that next week is the second edition of our 5 Things Friday, What’s bringing me joy link-up. How it works is simple: pick five things that are bringing joy to your life, write a post, and link up with us on the fourth Friday of ever month, NEXT WEEK!!!

We have TWO guest hosts to joining us and can’t wait to hear about what is currently making you smile!

Dress-tember Buddy

A couple of weeks ago I told you about Stephanie’s Dress-tember challenge. The idea is to wear 10 Dresses through the month of September, easy peasy.

Well, Emily got wind of the challenge and insisted on joining the fun. Oh that girl! I have been documenting her choices and the photos have been nothing short of hysterical. She was so excited to join in the fun and seeing her do this has confirmed what I already knew. Girlfriend has a flare for all things dramatic.

The Big Red Shoe

Last Saturday was my first race in nearly 6 months, The 5th annual Big Red Shoe. It is a local race that is put on to raise money for our local Ronald McDonald House. Such a good reason to run 9.3 VERY hilly miles.

It was fun to enjoy the race atmosphere and hang out with some of my favorite running friends, just like old times. Our time was definitely not record-breaking, but the memories are what really matters.

Yummi Bears

I received this product for free from Moms Meet (momsmeet.com) to use and post my honest opinions. Compensation for this post was provided and this page may contain affiliate links.”

We were excited to have the chance to team up with Hero Nutritional Vitamins to celebrate their 20th anniversary!

They are the makers of the original gummy vitamins and their Yummi Bear Organics Complete Multi-Vitamin is the first and only organic and GMO-free gummy vitamin for children with nothing artificial added.

Add that to the fact that my kids never forget to take them and they are a choice our whole house can agree upon. The girls love the flavors too, entirely natural strawberry, orange, and pineapple.

As for me, I am loving Slice of Life Organics Energy + B12. They have been the perfect addition to my mid day snack. B12, along with folic acid and B6, to support heart and circulatory health as well as energy metabolism. I love that I am doing something good for my body and boosting my healthy energy production at the same time.

Do you take vitamins year round?
Did you know that sunscreen we lather on our kids in blocks the body’s vitamin D absorption? Be sure to take vitamin D3 year round!

  • Lizzie Simantz

Seriously, what a tease our weather was too! We’re back in the upper 80’s!! No thank you! Great job on the race girl!

    • So stinking frustrating. I keep checking the 10 day forecast and it is depressing me something fierce.

  • Whitney Jordan

Glad your race went so well! Looked like fun. And you got a tractor!?!? I think that makes you official country people 🙂 I’m ready for Fall temps again. The cool weather we had a few weeks ago was amazing. Today was HOT AND HUMID. No thank you. I’m ready for all things Fall.

    • Haha! I went to Walmart in dirty jeans, a t-shirt, my Ford hat , and rain boots after “workin on the land” most of the afternoon. I have never felt more country than that moment. But we desperately needed milk, so… We have had hot and humid for DAYS now #overit.

  • I am so loving the Joy link-up! It’s been so refreshing to read everyone’s posts and be filled with so much happy. I love that Emily wanted to join in on the dress fun. She’s too awesome. I want to pass out just reading that you ran over 9 miles. WOW! Way to go friend.

PS – I love that you have a tractor now!!

    • I ran 11 on Tuesday and I wanted to pass out too, lololol! That was AWFUL. I can’t even fathom doing this marathon. The training alone may kill me.
Me too. I have never felt more country.
