Hello Friday, Hello long weekend!
It has been one crazy week friends. School assignments stacking up, to-do’s a mile long, and all of life really kicking in has made this mama exhausted. As a result, I haven’t exactly been the most patient person. I may or may not have put myself into mommy time out & apologized to my girls on more than one occasion. So needless to say, I am REALLY looking forward to the weekend.
Anyone else having one of those weeks too?
Let’s take a look at this weeks Friday picks!
Dirt Track Nights
Last Friday we FINALLY made a trip to a local dirt track. However, with the track being about 40 minutes away and a certain little girl, Marissa, who insisted on staying for the WHOLE thing we didn’t get home until about 1:15a.m.!
One of the perks of going to the dirt track was getting to see our favorite driver, Kyle. Russ works with Kyle and I love to play “fan girl” just to see if I can embarrass him. I think I did a pretty good job.
We had a great time and will definitely make sure to go back again next year.
Oh Texas, you have been SO heavy on my heart.
As a family who has endured the pain of a disaster, I have found my eyes brimming with tears more than once this week. It has stirred up all kinds of feelings in my heart and has really made me reflect on the lows that we felt and the amazing things that happened to get us to where we are now. We saw first hand that God took something so wretched and turned it into the biggest display of his love that we would ever see. 6 years later I know that tornado was an amazing blessing to our family.
So when I pray for Texas, it is with that hope. Hope that God would shine the light of his love into the darkness and that so much good would come from it. There IS beauty in the mess.
I shared this old post on my Facebook page earlier this week. So many people want to help during difficult times, but the ways they go about doing so aren’t always helpful. I wrote this post hoping that it would show others how to help effectively during a time of need.
If only I sent them to school 😆 !
We have been in consignment prepping craziness lately and the piles are stacking up. I am not exactly sure how I am going to get it all done, but I will do my best. I guess I can let the fact that Marissa’s closet is nearly empty motivate me. Girlfriend grew a lot over the summer and big girl clothes get more and more expensive every year 😯 .
Rainbow Loom Insanity
About a month ago Marissa’s cousin helped her make a rainbow loom figure and it has been nothing but non stop looming craziness ever since.
She has gotten SO good at making them. She has always been my crafty child! I think the figurine count is somewhere around 100 now. Also I may go completely broke helping her buy loom bands 🙄 😆 . I love that she found something she loves to do though.
Dress-tember Starts Now
One of my blogging besties has a really exciting challenge starting today!
The challenge is simple, wear 10 dresses or skirts through the month of September and share them in a blog post or with the hashtag.
I am pretty sure this challenge is going to be hilarious for me. With some plans that eliminate dress wearing on Sundays & weekends, I may be wearing my dresses around the house for no good reason. I am bound to get some odd looks from the hubby when he see’s me looking all fancy for no reason. But hey, a girl has to do what a girl has to do.
This week on the blog I shared…
Have a great weekend friends!
We’ll see you back here on Monday!
