Happy Blogiversary to Me, Turning Three!

Yesterday marked 3 years of blogging for this girl and I celebrated with my traditional blogiversary cupcake. I am supposed to be “being good” nutrition wise and honestly I think I have been (comparatively speaking  😉 ). But who am I to argue with tradition?!

Three years…

In three years of blogging I feel like I have expressed myself better than I did in the previous 30 years of my life. I’ve grown in leaps and bounds and know more than ever who I am… I’m also more okay than ever with people not loving that person. You can’t win them all, right?

I have become a bit of a techy, worked on my grammar skills (still a work in progress), developed photography skills, and made some of the best friends a gal could ever wish to have.

Three years = 824 blog posts
I was 30, Russ was 34, Emily had just turned 3, Marissa was 5, and Russ and I had only been married for 6 years.

I am sitting here at my desk feeling unsure of how I really feel about looking back at those numbers. I guess I feel like I just started this space of mine the other day and that it has been around forever simultaneously. But you know what? I think most of lifes good things are exactly like that. The lines just blur and you really aren’t sure where the beginning or the end is. You’re too busy just enjoying the ride.

Moving forward…

When I think about 2017 and what things are going to look like moving from year 3 to year 4 there are a whole lot of question marks for me. Will my posting schedule change? Will I take a sabbatical? Are there ways to cut back or simplify? Honestly, I don’t know.  But regardless of what the next 12 months look like,  I feel pretty confident that I’ll  make it to year 4.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
To those of you who have supported me in countless ways over the past 3 years.

Now for the fun part. Over the past 3 years I feel like I have just about done it all: home school, recipes, DIY, fashion, photography, budgeting, Christianity, and just plain ol’ life posts.

Which are your favorites to read?
What would you like to see, or see more of in the coming 12 months?

  • Happy Blogiversary! I love your posts and following along with your little family. I totally have seen you grow so much in the time I’ve been following and I think adding your outfits in was a nice fit..especially since you are budget friendly as I’m sure so many of the mommas reading your blog are as well. The girls have grown a ton! And I imagine with that shoe size we are really going to get to watch as Marissa shoots up soon!

    • Thank you so much! Funny you mention outfit posts, I have one planned for tomorrow! Budget friendly is the only way I know how to shop so yes, it is fun to get to share that with others. You can still look cute and not spend hundreds! That Marissa, she most certainly should and when she does I’ll gladly share a closet with her :P.

  • Happy happy blogiversary, friend!! I love every single thing you post, but your everyday life posts, recipe posts, and your fashion posts are some of my favorites… seriously, your fashion posts are getting so good!

I’m so glad that we met on this blogging journey… you’ll always be one of my faves!

    • Speaking of fashion posts, I may or may not have one lined up for tomorrow! Thanks for your sweet words. You are one of my faves too :*.

  • Happy Blogiversary! Wow–look how much your girls have grown! I’m new to your blog but I’ve enjoyed what I’ve read, so just more of the same I’d say 😉

    • Thank you so much. I think more of the same is just what I’ll do.

  • Happy Blogiversary! Nice to have met you in this blog world

  • Dude, it has been 3 years at JENerally Informed for me too! Oops, kind of forgot about it. Happy 3 year blogiversary! Wow have your girls grown! I am so happy we met in this internet land and became friends. Hugs and keep on rocking it!

    • I LOVE that we started within days of each other. You are one of the first bloggers I ever connected with Jen. So stinking cool that we are still at it and still yapping at each other :). Congrats too us and yes to hugs and rocking on.

  • Happy Blogiversary!! I love all the growth you’ve made. I’ll be super sad if you take a sabbatical though! I love your DIY posts, and just general posts about life and family. I’ve loved getting to know you! 🙂

    • Oh the feeling is mutual. I don’t exactly plan to take a sabbatical… I just know mid craziness that expectations are going to need to be adjusted and I am not sure to what extreme.

  • Happy 3 years! I think your posts are wonderful so keep it up!

    • Thank you so very much for making me smile!

  • Happy 3 years, Beth! I love following along with you and your sweet family!

  • Whitney Jordan

Happy bloggy birthday!! I love seeing your little girls. They seem so tiny three years ago 🙂 I enjoy reading your posts on motherhood, recipes and I’d LOVE to read any photography tips you have to share. Favorite products, must have lenses, tips, props, etc. Anything to improve pictures of people, food and any tips on taking great pictures indoors. Those always seem the hardest for me. Can’t wait to see what the coming year has in store for OPLG!

    • Oh thank you so much sweet friend for the great ideas! I’ll see what I can come up with.

  • Happy 3 years! I am so grateful to have met you in this big ol blogging world. You are so dear to me. I know 2017 has great things in store for your family.

    • Oh friend, you too. When I think back on my blogging days (when I’m an old woman) you will always be one of my favorites :*.
