Friday Highlights 1.6.17

Hello Friday!

In all honestly I am not sure if the weekend being here is a good thing or not! I feel like all week-long I have been trying to get back into some sort of routine (and failing miserably.) Anyone else? Maybe the weekend will help or maybe I’ll blink twice, Monday will be here, and I’ll drink half a pot of coffee just to cope.

Enough with my sob story though. How about this weeks Friday favorites.

Blog Highlights

This week on the blog I shared…

2016 Year End Review

For over a year now I have dabbled with chalkboards. However, recently I have been struggling to make time for them.

Hoping to find some new inspiration and motivation, I picked up this book. Y’all I can’t say enough good things about it. It is perfect for anyone wanting to learn how to create chalkboards or an expert looking to refine their skills. The author also agrees with what I say ALL the time. You don’t have to have good handwriting to make pretty chalkboards. My 3rd grader writes nicer than I do, seriously.

Target Love

Have you been to Target lately?!

I am not sure if I should tell you to go there right now, or that you need to stay away. I may or may not have made multiple recent trips… this week. The Dollar Spot has had loads of Valentines goodies, office supplies, and winter gear. Add in the Christmas clearance and I was hooked.

One of my favorite finds has been THIS mug. I instantly loved it but questioned if I really needed another coffee mug. After thinking about it the entire next day (exaggerating slightly), I knew I had to go back for it.

Christmas Bucket-list

Yesterday I mentioned that we finished our Christmas bucket-list…

I didn’t do a blog post about it and to be honest I kind of stunk at photographing the rest of it too. But we did it! This is our 3rd finished bucket-list in a row. Having older, motivated, list-loving kiddos is definitely making this easier.

I have plans to put up a winter bucket-list next week. We have never done one before but let’s be real, spring is a LONG time away. Winter gets really boring so having something to keep us distracted will be nice

Happy New Year!

I think it took me until January 4th to really process it being a New Year. So far I have shared about my January goals,  but I really haven’t said anything about what I have in mind for 2017! I think that is partially because I was having too much fun on Christmas vacation and the other part is me just being a slacker.

I am hoping to find the time to do that soon, before the “New Year excitement” wears off.

Have you made any big plans or goals for 2017 yet?

Have a great weekend friends!
We’ll see you back here on Monday!

  1. I have wanted to go to Target, but since it’s in a neighboring town I just haven’t made it yet. I’m not sure if I should. Ha ha! Can’t wait ot see what you have planned for the new year. πŸ™‚

  2. I went to Target on Wednesday and I was in heaven! $10 at Target – done! Hope you’ll share some chalkboard art soon!

  3. I want that mug so bad!! I need to go browse our Target’s dollar spot before all the cute valentines stuff is gone. I’m still working on my goals for 2017 but the biggest thing we have planned is Disney which I’m so flippin excited for!! Have a great weekend! xo

  4. Don’t tempt me with target! I’m trying to not spend money this month and target always draws me in. I’m going soon to do some returns and I know the dollar section will suck me in!!!

  5. I love that mug from Target. We have a Target 2 miles from our house. It is such a dangerous place. I spend WAY TO MUCH MONEY there. πŸ™ˆ
I’m ordering that book now. I have seen it on your IG and it makes me all 😍😍

  6. I’m loving all the new things at Target this time of year! I had to resist buying it all and am hoping to pick up a new garland or two. LOVE that picture of your girls at Target. I’ve shared my goals for the new year, but I’m still finalizing my word of the year. I’m excited for the new year, but feel like I’m running a bit behind.

    1. So glad to know ot isn’t just me! I feel like the reality of 2017 will set in tomorrow morning with our first week of being back to our regular schedule.

  7. Yay for finishing the bucket list, and that book looks awesome. It may need to be added to my birthday list. πŸ™‚ I’m loving Target too! I got a gift card, but alas, it is already spent…. on cloth bins to organize the toy room. Next up, is to buy the actual shelf….

  8. Target Christmas clearance was great this year! I found some really great deals. Congrats on finishing your Christmas bucket list! There’s so much going on at the end of the year – it’s awesome that you made time for those things too. I’ve found that if I don’t schedule those things in, they don’t happen. Happy New Year!!

  9. This last week was the longest, shortest week of all time!
Target has my heart (and money) forever and ever, Amen. I need to keep an eye out for that mug, because it is adorable!!
And I’m so excited to see what new chalk art you’ll be displaying!
