The Kids Behind The Blog, November 2016

It’s kids day on the blog!

Today is another round of The Kids Behind The Blog. A link up that focuses on the kids who made us mama’s and probably the reason we started our blogs in the first place. I love writing and reading these posts, they always leave me laughing.

I delayed putting this months post together longer than normal. I just couldn’t bring myself to do interviews about Thanksgiving while wearing shorts and t-shirts. Something about that just felt so wrong to me. But, praise Jesus, I think fall is finally here to stay. With high temps in the mid to upper 60’s this week I think I can FINALLY pack away the shorts.

I was hoping to have some pretty fall foliage in the background of these photos but the leaves around here have been less than impressive this year, bummer. At least we had a nice walk and it was cool enough for jackets. I should just be grateful for that and not get too greedy.
Let’s take a look at our November interviews…
What are 3 things you are thankful for?
Marissa // Food, water, and The Bible…. AND Jesus!
Emily // God, food, and The Bible.
What is your favorite food served at Thanksgiving dinner?
Marissa // Pumpkin pie. We went on to have a discussion about our preferred pie to Cool Whip ratios. We decided equal parts is best 😉.
Emily // Dessert! I asked her her favorite and she saidBrownie Bottom Pumpkin Dream Bars. She is totally obsessed with this recipe y’all. Check them out!
If you could be president for the day, what would you do?
Marissa // I would eat lots of donuts and watch movies. And if there were lots of trees, I would climb them and eat donuts in them and have lots of fun!
Emily //  I would help people. I asked her what she would do to help them and she said “If they were falling off a cliff, I would help them.”Clearly they don’t understand what it means to be president ;). I guess I know what we need to study.
How many feathers does a Turkey have?
Marissa // 20!
Emily // 7…. uhhh 10!
Who is your favorite relative to see during the holidays?
Marissa // My cousins. We like to play hide and seek.
Emily // Ava, Ethan and Aaron. Then she goes off to tell some silly hide and seek story, kisses my phone, tells me she loves me, and says Happy Thanksgiving. Oh Emily!

Meet the hosts!
Crystal // Hall Around Texas
Beth // Our Pretty Little Girls
Meghan // The Adventure Starts Here
Jessica // Secrets of a SAHM
Stephanie // Wife Mommy Me

Next months questions are…

1.) Which reindeer is your favorite?
2.) What do you want for Christmas?
3.) What would you do if you caught Santa at your house?
4.) What if Santa got stuck in your chimney?
5.) Do you want it to snow on Christmas? Why or Why not?
6.) Have you been naughty or nice this year? Why?
7.) If Santa asked you to fly in his sleigh with him would you do it?
8.) What is your favorite Christmas movie?
9.) If you could change the color of Rudolf’s nose what color would you make it?
10.) Sing me one Christmas Carol
I know, there are 10! Since the hosts of this link-up are just a little Christmas crazy, we couldn’t narrow it down to our favorite 5. After debating what to do we all agreed the best thing was to post them all. You are welcome to do as few or as many as you’d like. Next months link-up will open up on December 14th!

  1. Ha ha!! I love their answers. I have the pumpkin pie/cool whip ration discussion with my FiL every Thanksgiving. He’s a huge cool whip fan. And their answers for president are great. I’d like to eat donuts all day and help people too.

    1. Haha I am hearing that it must be completely engulfed? WHOA! I do love me some cool whip too though. We should do that one day. Eat donuts, help people, and climb trees, then come home and watch a movie.

    1. I’m telling you, they would be the very best of friends and OH the shenanigans they would get into, lol. Isn’t that fun! I am really happy we did it that way.

  2. Your kids are so cute! No- the cool whip has to completely engulf the pie. I will forgive all of you this slip, because I like you. Oh and Marissa’s doughnut plans for the Presidency are something I can completely support!

  3. If I’m ever on the edge of a cliff, I’m calling Emily to talk me down! Maybe she’d bring Brownie Bottom Pumpkin Dream Bars! 🙂

  4. I’m liking the new blog design. Reminds me a lot of mine!
I’m totally with the girls: dessert is hands down the best part of Thanksgiving.
HA! I’d be down with the girls presidential policies. Donuts, tree climbing, and helping those who might be falling off a cliff.

    1. It IS similar to yours. I had forgot about that when I was picking out the background. I was busy thinking it was similar to Stephanie’s and Courtney’s old one and every other gold and white blog. So catchy because it’s classic and pretty. I was going to do color, but I just couldn’t this time of the year. My favorite part of this theme is how easily I can switch out that gold and white for something else and change my blog without it feeling like I keep changing my blog. I already have stuff made to switch it out for a color come April.

I agree too, give me all the dessert.

They are crazy and I love them.

  5. First of all, I adore these pictures of your sweet girls. So good! And I am in tears over the fact that they both said the Bible! Goodness that is one thing we should all be thankful for. Eating donuts in a tree and then followed up with rescuing someone from a cliff…BOOM! Perfect day. Emily kissing the phone…LOVE!

    1. Thank you so much friend. I am always so very thankful for my girls and their precious hearts. Some days I feel like we are messing everything up but others I know we have to be doing something right.
