Friday Highlights 11.11 + Giveaway

Hello Friday!

With the passing of another week we are that much closer to Thanksgiving and all I can think about is that I am one week closer to putting up my Christmas trees. I have been trying to hold out, really I have. But I’m not sure how much longer I can wait. Especially after so many of you fessed up that you have plans to decorate this weekend. I think I need to join you instead of sticking to my original plan of waiting one more week! Oh decisions, decisions.

Let’s take a look at this weeks Friday favorites.

In case you didn’t notice things around here changed a little bit. I switched up my theme and logos late last Friday night. I am LOVING the end result. Plus, this was the first blog DIY that didn’t majorly stress me out #winning. Thanks for your sweet compliments about the changes I made this week.

Prayers for Emily

IMG_1812

The appointment we have been waiting on, for what feels like forever, is finally almost here. After Emily’s last appointment in K.C. we were prescribed new glasses and told to pray. We have prayed, you have prayed and I feel like the results are everything we could have wished for. But we’ve been waiting for weeks now to hear those words from the Dr. himself.

e

We go on Wednesday to find out. If you could say a little prayer for us we would be SO thankful.

So many thoughts and prayers continuing to head Emily’s way. I hope you guys get the news you’ve been wanting. What an amazing little girl you have! Yay for givewaways, especially around the holidays. πŸ™‚

    • Yes, yes, yes! I am anxious for that good report to come.

  • Cat @ MaryMarthaMama.com

Oh I will be praying for Emily for her appointment! And I love your redesign! You did the log and everything yourself? I’m impressed. My goal is to redo my log and site design at the beginning of the year or maybe even have someone else do the logo. It’s not my natural abilities πŸ™‚

    • I sure did! Thank you so much. I was going to have someone install the new theme, but it was really quite easy. I bet paying for a logo would get you something pretty amazing. Thanks for the prayers.

  • Amy Smith

Oh sweet Emily! Praying things are going the right direction!

Look at that giveaway! Couldn’t come at a better time. You did a great job on the blog’s new look!

  • Lizzie Simantz

I love your new look and kept meaning to tell you that! You did it yourself? How awesome! I’m praying Emily gets the good news you are hoping for!! Have a great weekend friend!!

    • Thanks Lizzie. I sure did. I am a total idiot who always DIY’s her blog stuff and sometimes says a lot of curse words because of it :P. I hope your weekend is going great!

  • I hope the appointment goes well! I like the new logo – reminds me of PLL a bit! Thanks for the giveaway. I like to shop when I see things on sale – either before or after Thanksgiving! πŸ™‚

    • Thanks Dara! Confession: I had to Google PLL, HA!

  • Love the new design!! I have been viewing mostly on mobile until today! Praying for Emily!!! And yay for the peplum! I think you will love it! As for a comment about the giveaway, I do a lot of my shopping before Thanksgiving so I can truly enjoy December. I already have most of the shopping done for our boys besides stocking stuffers!

    • That is seriously impressive. I don’t start until Black Friday but I usually try and have it all done by December 1st too. Thank goodness I don’t shop much :P.

  • Meghan Flinn

Cute striped peplum top… You must get it! And I will definitely be hoping for great news at Emily’s appointment!

    • I ordered it! We’ll see how it is when it arrives. Thank you so much.

  • I can’t wait for you to hear great things from EE’s doctor. She has made such progress.

  • Ok so I saw that peplum top that Becky mentioned last week. I think I might need it! I mean I ordered the Lucky lace up flats that she mentioned and I LOVE them so I’m sure she’s not wrong about that either!

    • I am pretty sure Becky is never wrong about anything. I ordered the top myself (in two sizes because?!) I’ll find out soon.

  • I am loving your new blog design. You did a great job!
Prayers for sweet Emily! I know this has weighed so heavily on your heart the last few months.

    • Thanks Emily. It was so easy this time. Which was so surprising.
      The prayers are so appreciated.

  • I’m going to update the button on my blog for your new one RIGHT now! Love the gold. And prayers for sweet Emily, always.

    • Aaahhh you are so sweet. Thank you so much. I need to get some buttons on here somewhere myself. Prayers are appreciated.

  • First of all, I love the new design!!

I hope Emily’s appointment goes well on Wednesday!

Giveaway answer: I do most of my Christmas shopping after Thanksgiving.

    • Thank you, thank you! I usually do too. I try to get it all done by the first part of December though.

  • I’m dying to decorate for Christmas too! I’m usually quite happy to wait until the very end of December, but this year is just different for some reason. Target always tempts me with their clothes…but nothing EVER fits me from their women’s line. It just wasn’t made for people under 5 feet tall. LOL. I have picked up a few things from the kids section though – and nobody is the wiser. πŸ™‚

Whitney @ Come Home For Comfort

    • You are under 5 foot tall?!?! I am 5’10.5 so kind of on the whole other side lol. I wish I could shop from the kids dept. I find so many cute things over there for the girls. I am decorating next weekend. This weekend was for blogging. I’ll be able to really enjoy it knowing I am ahead!

  • Whitney Jordan

Loving your new blog look! Way to go on doing it yourself. I have been really wanting that striped peplum top from Target. Maybe it’s time to take the plunge. I’m wondering if I should size up since it’s a junior top?? Praying for Emily! She looks so cute in her glasses and It’s amazing the progress that you can see from the two pictures. Praying you hear great news.

    • I just ordered it on Friday! I always size up in the junior department. I actually ordered a medium and large in this and I’ll just keep whatever fits better. It’s complicated, but I don’t mind the trip to Target to return the other :P.

Isn’t that amazing?!?! Thank you for the prayers friend.

      Have an awesome Sunday!

  • Loving your new logo and look! This is so on my agenda for December!! Sweet, sweet prayers for your Emily girl. She is just so darn cute with those curls. And..umm…I really hope you grabbed that peplum top from Target because it would be adorable on you!

    • I was just glad that I didn’t end up crying over it this time :P. MANY tears were shed when I made the transition to WP. She is ridiculous, so cute and sweet. She’s hard to say no to for sure. I DID! I started getting a little sad over not grabbing it, so I went for it. I hope I love it.

  • The new logo and look is amazing! You did a great job! Ahhh Target- I can barely walk in without being distracted by the dollar section and then the clothes! So much cuteness! Sweet Emily- she shines with joy!

    • Thank you so much Keri! That is exactly how I think of Emily too God knew I needed some Joy in my life for sure!

  • Desiree @ Macke Monologues

I shop for Christmas all year long. But a good bulk of it happens on Cyber Monday.
And, let’s talk about the coffee tees at Target. SO CUTE.
Sending prayers for great news for Emily on Wednesday!

    • I have never been a big Cyber Monday shopper. I think I need to watch that a little more closely this year than I have in the past.

Thank you so much. We are excited and getting nervous too.

  • Ashley

Love the new look!! Now I feel inspired to do something…but to the rafflecopter question: I do most of my shopping after Thanksgiving

    • Thanks Ashley. I mostly just wanted to switch my theme but figured I might as well go all out if I was going to bother with it! I do too!

  • chall1018

I think we will at least start bringing down the Christmas buckets from the attic this weekend! And since Mason is off next week for Thanksgiving I may start decorating with him. I can’t wait. I love the new look around here. The colors are perfect for fall. Prayers for sweet Emily!! I love that last picture of her. So perfect.

    • I am pulling all of ours out today! Eeekkkk!!! He gets the WHOLE week off?! That is so awesome. We took the whole week off last year but with a vacation in the first semester this year, we still have school Monday and Tuesday. BOO! Thank you so much!
