The Kids Behind The Blog, August 2016

I know, I know, I’m a  few days early. But special plans this week meant posting early. The link-up will open first thing Wednesday morning and you will be able to add your posts then. Just think of my early post as a friendly reminder!

This months questions come with a “summers over, let’s get back to school” theme. A theme that seems oh so perfect since we start our home school year tomorrow!

Oh how I miss you already summer break!

1. What was your favorite thing you did over the summer?
Marissa // Go to the pool?!
Emily // Going to the pool.

2. What’s your favorite thing to learn about at school?
Marissa // Science
Emily // I like coloring, crafts and art things.

3. Who is your best friend from school?
Marissa // *weird look* Emily *She goes onto explain that I am her friend too, but I don’ think I made the cut as her best friend.*
Emily // Huh?! *weird look* Uh, sissy.

4. What do you want to be when you grow up?
Marissa // A vet
*This one came as a bit of a shocker. Every time I have asked her this question she has always replied a mommy. I’m not gonna lie, it made me a little sad. But I think I recovered well.*
Emily // A mom

5. What is your least favorite thing about school?
Marissa // MATH!
Emily // I don’t like to write things down, letters.

So this months shocker was Marissa’s career path change. Now if I can figure out how to take writing out of Emily’s school work we will be all good :/. Oh those girls. I just love them so much.

  • So cute. Can’t participate this month…the questions are a little bit over the heads of my grandkids. Still enjoy reading everyone’s answers. Writing, some love it, others hate it. Get her a journal, a pretty journal and encouragement her to write 3 things down each night on what she is grateful for from the day. She might surprise you!

    • That is a FANTASTIC idea Michelle. We’ll work on that. Thank you so much.

  • SUPER cute!!! And a vet!? Someone loves animals? πŸ™‚

    • They both love animals so much. I was just so surprised she didn’t say mommy. My baby is growing up!

  • Jessica

I seriously can’t believe it’s time for school already. The summer has gone by so quickly. I love the girl’s answers. I would have been a little sad that Marissa changed her mine on future career, but I guarantee being a mom is still on the list. πŸ™‚

    • Yeah after nearly 8 years of her ALWAYS saying mom, it was a little hard to hear she changed paths. But it kind of made me smile too. And I bet you are exactly right :).

  • If they didn’t say go to the pool I would have questioned what you’ve really been doing this Summer.

  • I love how they didn’t get the favorite friend from school question!

  • Meghan Flinn

Haha I love the best friend at school question! And she can be a vet and a mom… No worries!

    • EXACTLY! That girl has goals and I love it.

  • Im flabbergasted, Kinsey just told me last week she wanted to be a Vet!! What are the odds?! πŸ˜‰

    • Lol that is awesome I think every kid wants to be a vet at some point, right?!

  • Oh my gosh, #3!! So funny!! Those girls are a hoot! I hope you guys have a great first day back today!!

    • We really did and we even finished up early! #winning

  • Love that you posted early…good reminder! πŸ˜‰ They are so precious!! Uh…sissy?? Hahaha!

    • I thought surely someone would find an early post helpful. Glad it did :). That question really messed with them :P.

  • Desiree @ Macke Monologues

I’m with Marissa – math is one subject that can kick rocks as far as I’m concerned!

    • I KNOW! I hate it too but I do the best job I can to keep my brave face on for her. The least thing I want is my bad attitude rubbing off on her. She hates it enough on her own. Maybe she can sense my true feelings, lol.

  • Oh my goodness, those first 3 pictures are the BEST! I love their answers…especially the one about their best friend. I’ll be linking up on Wednesday. It’s one of my favorites!

    • I always love reading your interviews, can’t wait!

  • Haha….. I love the weird looks they gave you about their friends. I tried asking Annabelle these questions and she just responded with “I don’t know”… so I’m going to sit this one out.

    • Some months are definitely harder than others with the littles. That was my favorite part too. That question really threw them off which was hilarious. Oh those homeschooled kids :P.

  • chall1018

It’s unanimous – the pool is the place to be! Mason gets bored when he has to write things out, too! These photos and videos are great.

    • Yes it is! Thank you so much. Emily is LOVING school so far. Which is funny because she was really dreading it.

  • Bruna

ha love that they are live ummm we are best friends πŸ™‚ That is so sweet! I dont like math either Marissa lol

    • It is the worst, right?! I try to hide my true feelings about it but I am not sure I always do a good job.

      Thank you!

  • Whitney Jordan

So sweet! I think my favorite part of their interview this month is the JOY that radiates from your summer break pictures. They look so dang cute in goggles, have huge smiles and definitely had a blast this summer πŸ™‚

    • This summer was SO much fun. Glad we still have another month or so of weekends!
