Friday Highlights 2016, V30

Hello Friday!

Well, it’s here.
The last official day of summer break…

I’m not sure exactly how I feel about that ^. For now I just want to think about this weekend, the amazing last week of summer that we’ve had, and how we are going to celebrate back to school eve Sunday night. We always try to make a big deal out of it and that usually means ordering pizza and eating way too much ice cream.

Here are this weeks Friday highlights.

one
Fashion Love

Can I just say a BIG, HUGE thank you?!

I branched out about a week and a half ago and did a fashion post with a big disclaimer that I am not a fashion blogger. The support and love that y’all showed on that post was overwhelming and left me feeling confident that I really am making positive changes.

Fashion Lately
Where I still don’t expect for fashion posts to become a regular part of my routine. I definitely feel like I may play around with them more in the future.

Two
School Supplies

One of my favorite parts of back to school season is the affordable school supplies. At 32 years old I still love opening up a brand new box of Crayolas and the time to stock up is now! Here are a few must haves and items I was excited to add to my ever-growing collection.

School SuppliesElectric pencil sharpener
Crayola Crayons
Three hole punch

Back To School

I said we were close and I meant it. I can’t even believe in just a couple of days we’ll be working on math problems instead of going to the pool, SIGH!

Four
Give Me S’more

Has anyone else noticed that s’more flavored food items everywhere. From ice cream, pop tarts, drinks, rice krispy treats, and even cinnamon rolls, It seems like the new pumpkin spice is s’more.

National S'more Day_editedNow don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining one little bit. My motto is ‘Give me s’more!’ If you feel the same way about the graham cracker gooey goodness you might want to mark your calendar now. National S’more Day is coming up on Wednesday August 10th! Plus I have some pretty exciting plans to celebrate that day on the blog that I don’t think you’ll want to miss.

How is it possible that your summer vacation is over? πŸ™ you guys packed so much in and had such a great one though. And just because schools back in session doesn’t mean the weekends can’t be full of swimming and fun.

    • Exactly. We totally will too. There is still so much time for summer fun and our bucket list is still full of things to do.

  • Oh back to school πŸ™ You’ll make it fun though! I still need to find an excuse to get that IKEA cart! I love it!

    • I can give you an entire list of reasons. That cart is so versatile and amazing!

  • noooooooo…school can’t start already!?

    • I know right?! But hey we have a week of vacation next month so at least there is that to look forward too!

  • Aw, you start school Monday? Good luck!

    • I know, right?! But at least there is a September vacation to look forward to. Thank you.

  • Target had a bunch of those tin buckets in the dollar spot last year and I loaded up! Best little things ever! And thank you for the PSA on the s’mores… I did not know about that, but we will for sure be participating!

    • You are so welcome. It would stink to miss out on such an “important” day.

  • Thanks for the “smores day” notice–I put it on the calendar!! I don’t think either of our kids have ever experienced their greatness!

    • You are welcome. It would be the perfect time to make this happen. Your first smore is like some kind of right of passage or something :P.

  • Yay for the s’mores! why am I the ONLY one that totally blanked and forgot to write that down?! I think I’m in a, I need to get through the week, I have blinders on for the following week. Ugh! At least you all mentioned it, hehe. And I thought that pencil sharpener was a coffee grinder and I thought, hmmm…random thing to put down for school supplies πŸ™‚

    • Baha ha! My favorite part about you forgetting is you are part of the blog hop :P. We all have our moments like that friend. I think coffee and school supplies makes perfect sense. I will be needing LOTS of coffee friend ;).

  • Hope you guys are enjoying every last second of your last summer weekend! I have no doubt you are doing something extra fun πŸ™‚ Good luck on Monday!

    • Thank you, thank you! We had the best time yesterday. Now today we hit the books eeeekkkk!

  • I will be thinking of you this week as you tackle a new school year! I am really looking forward to seeing how you juggle it all!

    • Juggle it all sums it up perfectly. Thanks friend, here goes nothing.

Back to school supplies were always so awesome to get each year! I don’t know what it is about new pencils and folders, but I LOVED shopping for them!
It’s so crazy that you and the ladies are back in session.
And National S’more Day? Yes please and thank you!!

    • It is crazy but our first day back was amazing. Now if only we can just keep that going. It’s pretty much the best day ever. Maybe we should call a school’s out holiday to celebrate :P.

  • Meghan Flinn

I can’t wait til we have to shop for real school supplies. It was my all time favorite. Now I just have fun with craft supplies πŸ˜‰

    • Craft supplies are pretty great, and pretty much all I buy really there are a lot of school supplies that home schoolers just don’t need. Which is great and kind of sad all at the same time :).

  • chall1018

I’m such a nerd and totally geek out over new supplies! My boss does too and always buys us a box full of random things each new school year. LOVE it! So excited about the s’more day!

    • That is SO much fun. Like a box of happiness :P. Tomorrow, tomorrow!
