Picture Perfect Project V6: May 2016

It’s picture time again! About a year and a half ago I challenged myself to start taking one photo of the girls a week and from that challenge morphed the Picture Perfect Project. Goodness was this past month rough. A VERY busy May meant my photos were VERY inconsistent. I also did zero chalkboards after Mothers day, so that fun element was gone too. I think I need to take the time to design a really fun chalkboard and then just leave it up until school starts.

So even though they were inconsistent and one week is possibly a record for my worst photo so far, I still have 5 photos for 5 weeks to share.

Let’s take a look at weeks 18-22

May 2016

Week 18
Week 18 was blurry grainy photos and playing hookie from church. We had a very late night hosting a party for a blog campaign and decided to stay home after we failed to wake up with enough time to get there. The girls played and played outside this day.

Week 19
Happy Mothers Day to me. The weather was less than ideal, but at least it wasn’t cold. Marissa was finally able to wear her Easter dress without a jacket.

Week 20
Stripes & more stripes. I have never been a fan of twinning the girls but I do love a coordinated look.

Week 21

I love finding things that I bought on clearance stuck away in Marissa’s closet. I picked this skirt up for her for .97 at the end of summer a year or so ago. I knew it would likely be to short for her since her legs go on forever but leggings are a tall girls best friend.

Week 22
We were out-of-town for the NSRA show and I just happened to remember to take a quick photo. I definitely failed to take quality photos here, but I did the best I could in the bright sun.

I love that you take a picture each week. Even though it doesn’t seem like they change week by week when you look back over the months you’ll be able to see differences and changes, especially once an entire year is over. πŸ™‚

    • Exactly. I wish I had started this when my kids were your kids age :).

  • Amy Smith

    I can’t handle their cuteness!

  • Those sweet smiles! I love leggings when the dresses get a bit too short!

    • Girls can get so much more wear out of their clothes than boys do. I am just so sure of that.

  • I love their stripes! Do you have a count on how many Minnie shirts Emily has?! πŸ˜‰

    • It is something like INSANITY, lol. When she out grows them she won’t let me get rid of them either. I just stash them away. Eventually she could have a really nice t-shirt quilt.

  • Do the girls fight you to take the picture? I have a feeling I would get many sulky faces.

    • Actually they don’t. I think I just programmed them super early and they are too afraid of me… baha ha, I wish.

  • I adore the coordinating stripes!!!! Twinning isn’t my favorite either. Busy or not, you still got your shots in so you succeeded!

    • Thank you so much friend. My brothers wife used to dress their girls (15 months apart) like twins every day all the time and it made me so mad. Why treat kids like twins that aren’t so I kind of got a bad taste in my mouth over it lol.

  • Have you noticed they were a lot of dresses/skirts? Maybe it’s because I’m a boy Mom that I notice but you are raising girly girls!

    • Well it’s mostly because I take these photos right after church on Sundays. I guess I should clarify that because we are SO not this fancy Monday-Saturday.

  • Whitney Jordan

Cutest girls! I always love seeing their big smiles and their accessories. I also love finding super clearance items to tuck away for the future πŸ™‚

    • I knew you would be smart like that too friend. I’ll buy things quite a bit bigger if the price is right! Thank you!

  • I think I love the review photos the most! And if I could I would coordinate every outfit, everyday…:)

    • Baha ha! It is a lot of fun and they really seem to like it too which is super sweet.

  • chall1018

These posts and photos are going to be so fun to look back on in a year or so! They are such adorable girls.

    • Thank you so much friend, I completely agree too. You only regret the photos you don’t take!

      • chall1018

        So so true!

  • Totally love this…and how in the world have I missed this fun little project and linkup!

    • It is a pretty small one, but a lot of fun. Especially if you’re a sucker for documenting things like I am :).

  • They are just the cutest! I love this project, too!

    • Thanks friend. I wish I had started doing this forever ago.

  • They are adorable!!! I love that you do this. By the way, Marissa suddenly looks SO grown up!

    • I know, right?! It stinks so bad…. 8 is gonna be hard when it comes next week.

  • I LOVE Marissa’s dress from week 19, her Easter dress. Seriously so cute. I would totally wear something like that!

    • I have said that so many times too :). It is fantastic!

  • I love these every time! I have a long legged girl too. It’s so hard to find skirts that are long enough for her!

    • YES!!! It’s awful. Marissa is heading on 5′ tall…. and she isn’t even 8 yet. Sigh.

      • Wow. Gabbie is 5 feet but she’s 11!

  • Dresses and leggings are the perfect girl outfit!!

    • Totally. They keep rocking that look for YEARS!

  • Meghan Flinn

Your girls are so cute! And Emily’s eye definitely looks like it’s improving!

    • As long as she has her glasses on we are only slightly turned and sometimes it even looks perfect. Still some work to do, but we are getting there!

  • Rosie’s Cottage

Beth, they’re just adorable πŸ™‚ Marissa is starting to look so grown up and Emily looks so sweet in her glasses. I know I said it before but they’re going to love you for taking these photos, they’ll be able to show them to their own babies when they’re Mums too. You’re saving happy memories and smiles πŸ™‚ hugs xx

  • Desiree @ Macke Monologues

Marissa’s Easter dress is still one of my all time favorites.
Emily’s eye looks SO great!! Girl friend is doing awesome!
And shooting in direct sunlight is SO tricky!

    • I absolutely love that dress of hers. Why doesn’t it come in my size?! It is MUCH better when we have the glasses on. Still some work to do though.
