Black Bean Hummus Layer Dip, TT V18

This post is being sponsored by Bush Brothers, Hummus Made Easy. I was hired by @KendalKingGroup and compensated for my time, but all opinions are my own.

Today I want to share a product with you that I couldn’t possibly be more excited about and no, I am not obligated to say that.

For years I have been interested in making my own hummus. I’ve researched and pinned recipes but never anything more than that. Why? It wasn’t simple, convenient, or affordable. I hate hunting down expensive ingredients for a recipe only to never use them again.

Now there is a product that changes everything,
Bush’s Hummus Made Easy.

It was the perfect solution to my hummus dilemma. It is convenient, delicious and affordable not to mention an extremely versatile product. Plus it can be conveniently picked up at your local Wal-Mart. This past weekend we had the pleasure of hosting a party to show case some of the amazing things you can do with Hummus Made Easy. I can’t wait to share some of the recipes and photos with you over the next few weeks.

Starting with this…

A layered dip made with black bean hummus instead of the traditional refried beans. #HummusMadeEasy #Ad
Seven Layer Dip has been a long time favorite of mine and it has NEVER been this good. I can’t even tell you how many times I was told that at the party. The black bean hummus adds just the right twist to this recipe to take this classic dish to the next level.

  1. Yum! I love layer dips. This one looks so easy and definitely tasty. We will be trying it, especially since my children love hummus.

    1. It would be so perfect for you then! The hummus was the perfect change from the boring refried beans. I plan to make this again, soon.

  2. wow this recipe sounds delicious! I have never tried Hummas Made Easy and definitely need to try it!! Have a great day!

  3. I like that it is made with black beans and not chickpeas. I’m allergic to legumes, particularly chickpeas. Your photos are vibrant and show the freshness perfectly.

    1. Thanks Michelle. I love how versatile this product is. You really could make it with any kind of bean that you wanted so if a person doesn’t care for chickpeas, why not try something different?! This black bean hummus is by far the best hummus I have ever had.

  4. What a great idea! Little party sized cups of dip. That is brilliant! I think my husband would like those just for dinner. Thanks for sharing!

  5. We love Mexican of any kind so I love how you changed up the hummus to make it something other than just typical veggie dipping sauce!

  6. I’ve never even thought using black beans to make hummus. I love black beans and hummus, so I’m sure I’d love this. So creative!

  7. I LOVE black beans, but hummus makes me nervous. I want to be cool and like it, because it seems like the hipper, younger sister of bean dip, but I always back out at the last minute. I think I might could do it this time though… I’ll definitely look for it next time I order my groceries at Walmart. Thanks for your recommendation.

    1. This black bean hummus would be a GREAT place to start since it is made with a more common bean than chickpeas. Plus you get all the other elements with this dip too. You should totally try it. It is SO good. You bet!

  8. I am going to try this for sure. I love black beans and all things dip but hummus isn’t something I normally want to eat but your photos have me wanting to make this dip RIGHT NOW.

    1. This would be the perfect hummus to give a try since it is made with the black beans instead of the chick peas. It is SO good friend. I am planning to buy more of this stuff while shopping this week.

  9. We are HUGE hummus fans so this sounds amazing. I can’t wait to give this a try. Olive loves it so I think it would be a fun lunch option or a fun appetizer for game days. Thanks for the suggestion and pretty food pictures!

    1. Huge Hummus fans means you will LOVE this product. It is SO good and less expensive than having the premade stuff around too. This would be PERFECT for those. I also like the idea that I could make a little any time I wanted as long as I had the black bean hummus sitting in the fridge!

  10. Hummus is a fan favorite in our house, but I’ve never thought to try and make it myself. And the black bean dip? YUM!!

    1. The black bean is AMAZING. I was most impressed with how easy it was to make with the Hummus Made Easy and that it is less expensive than buying the premade stuff (tastier too). Make sure you look for it in the bean aisle!

  11. I saw this at the store the other day, but I wasn’t sure if it would be any good. Thanks for the review and recipe!
