Weekend Recap: Project Fair, Joy Rides & More

Nothing beats a long spring weekend with a lot going on, but nothing you have to do.

We had a pretty awesome weekend friends. I wish we could always live in this “almost summer” mode. Outside, outside, outside, we got plenty of fresh air this weekend. Today I want to do a weekend recap to share all of the highlights that made this weekend one to remember.

Friday was our annual co-op project fair. The girls worked so hard to get their projects done in time. Confession, I may or may not have dropped the ball with all we’ve had going on lately. And I may or may not have tried to bribe them into just not doing the fair this year. When they didn’t take the bait we got to work with only a week to go. I think they did a pretty amazing job and couldn’t possibly have been more proud of them. Emily also got up on stage to sing for the first time ever too. I have a feeling she’ll be doing more of that in the future.

Saturday was a 7 mile run with Anna then a much needed shower. For breakfast the girls couldn’t decide between scones or muffins, so I humored them by making both. We spent the rest of the morning cleaning and CLEANING. After a quick lunch we hopped in the 37 and drove to Rainbow Bridge (I’ll share more on that later this week). We also hit up a car show cruise night and went to a bonfire with friends.

Sunday was church and then home where I sat down and began writing this post. I ate lunch and went on a Sunday drive in the 37 with my Sarah. Next up was watching napping during the race, grabbing “a couple” of groceries, a walk, and plenty of time spent playing outside.

Definitely another great weekend.
Just what we needed to unwind a bit before our LAST week of school!

    • Haha! It was the PERFECT project for Emily. She REALLY wanted to put one together and I didn’t want it to be a lot of work for me so I found this on Pinterest and decided to make it even cooler. I love how it turned out.

  • EE’s face in is so serious in the ice cream photo.. like she may be too cool for both ice cream and photos. #diva

    • I know right?! It almost looks like she thinks she is to cool for that Popsicle :D!

  • What a fun weekend! Your girls picked great topics for their projects! I know you mentioned before you struggle wearing color…me, too…but that orange looks cute on you! Have a great week!

    • Thank you, thank you! I think the only time I don’t struggle to wear color is when I am running, mostly out of safety concerns, baha ha! Oh goodness I’m a mess.

  • Oh fun times! Your family is adorbs. I spent my weekend hustling kids to plays and softball games. It was dusty, hot and I think I need a Popsicle like your Emily had!

    • Jen you totally deserve a popsicle…. or a donut. Just sayin’ ;).

  • COMPLETELY adore the picture of M and E sitting on the curb in their sunnies! Is that a fisheye lense of some sort? The fair poster boards turned out great!

    • That is so funny I ha a diffuser ring thingy on my lens and I forgot to pull it back a bit when taking the photo. I kind of like how it turned out too and even more than that I love that you noticed it. So much attention to detail :D!

  • Sounds like a great weekend! I can’t believe they came up with those projects so last minute. They look great! And also, best mom ever for making scones AND muffins! I want to come to your house for breakfast!

    • Thank you Marissa worked SUPER hard on hers and Emily’s looks way more difficult than it actually was :P. You are welcome here for breakfast anytime!

    • Haha! You are just too sweet. Emily’s looks really cool but it was seriously such an easy project to put together.

  • Awe, the girls did so good! And I love seeing the pics with your “new” car!!
