Well, here we are on our brand new, self hosted, all mine site.
I am so excited!
On the list of stressful and scary blogging related things that I have done making this switch definitely takes the cake. But today I look around and know that it was the best decision I could have made and I am so glad that I didn’t let fear scare me away from doing it.
I wanted to write this post for two reasons.
#1 // I wanted to make sure my emails are being sent out and my posts are appearing on Bloglovin.
#2 // I wanted to answer the question several people have asked me, why did I make the change?
Making this change was something that I have been debating for right around a year now. Initially it was the idea of owning my own content that was so appealing (and it still is the #1 perk). Then reasons to change kept stacking up on top of each other. The plug-in options that come with WordPress, the formatting nightmares that drove me crazy on Blogger, the flexibility to do things I just couldn’t do.
I thought about making the change time and time again and finally without a second thought I decided to jump. I spent about a week feeling like I had bitten off more than I could chew, worrying I made a huge mistake and on Friday I had an excruciating 8 hours of helplessly waiting to see if I had done everything correctly. You can only imagine the feeling of relief I had when I received this text from one of my dearest blogging friends (don’t mind my fat finger typos).
It had worked!
Thank you Jesus!
Today I wanted to thank a few people. God has blessed me with some amazingly supportive and helpful blogging friends and I couldn’t have made this transition as smoothly without their guidance, help and words of encouragement.
Today is kind of like a new beginning around here.
I couldn’t possibly be more excited to see what the future holds.
